06 Jun 2016, 02:46PMRichmond is in desperate times according to Mark Robinson and he believes the club cannot afford to keep chasing free agents to top-up the list they have built during Damien Hardwick’s tenure.
He asked the Tigers senior coach the day after a disappointing loss to North Melbourne what the plan was for the remainder of the season and his expectations of the current squad.
“No, they’re starting again Richmond but they’re in a spot because they went and got Yarran,” said Robinson on SEN radio.
“There’s a realisation they’ve got to play kids, we asked him for the 500,000 Richmond fans listening to this right now they want to know how you’re going to handle the second half of the year.
“Is it kids and give them games? He said it’s a mixture of both.
“I know (how poorly their VFL side played), so what a spot the Tigers are in at the moment.
“It’s desperate times… I don’t know where they go… they’ve got to start growing their own list and developing their own players.”
