Short did in his first match , then got dropped two matches later before returning in the backline....

...anyway good to know you don't think having blokes who tackle is important...no wonder you rate Hamspud, Grigg & Hunt....

Hampson is the best option we have - FACT
Hunt has had a crack, isn't up to it but credit where is due , he chased yesterday
Grigg has broken thumb and knee issues and will finish top 5 in B&F
Why don't you have a crack at Vluastin .Miles and B Ellis

Taylor Hunt = more turnovers than the Sara Lee factory

At least he had a crack
What was very sad yesterday was the effort of the players to run
Walked away from game disgusted

You say this yet want to drop Drummond and Rioli. Both were willing to bust a gut running (Rioli in particular) and Drummond laid some nice tough tackles

You know something
You have hit the nail on the head
That's the problem
I ain't interested in tackles and defensive efforts garbage
I want players who can crumb the ball , win the ball in dispute and NOT the third result in a tackling which we are hopeless at anyway
Both Drummond and Rioli clearly not up to yesterday
Might be in 2 two seasons time
But pointless players being lead to the ball by there opposition to have them try and attempt a tackle which we don't do well anyway
When was the last time a small forward stood at the front of the pack and won the ball ?
Dont let the club PR cloud your judgment now

I'd much rather a kid who has scope for improvement that at least puts the hard yards in by applying pressure than someone like Hunt who is as soft as butter, can't win his own ball and fluffs simple kicks time and time again. Worst part he has absolutely zero scope for improvement. He has hit his prime.

Oh lol at your logic. We don't tackle well anyway so we shouldn't bother having players who do it well. We don't win games either, should we stop playing players who could win us some games (not that we've started).... oh wait actually you are already advocating that by wanting Hampson, Grigg and Hunt in the team at the expense of players that could take us further in Rioli and Drummond

So what's the issue with Rioli and Drummond again?

If Hamspud's our best option then that just speaks to our paucity of options and shyte list management....and I'd argue he really isn't our best option given how utterly pathetic he is around the ground and how many of his taps just go straight to the opposition...rather play Chol, McBean, Elton, Griffiths, Soldo & even Vickery - who I maintain plays far better on ball then up forward- in the ruck and try & shark the opposition taps...at least we wouldn't be a man down in general play....

Injuries are no excuse for bludging....if Grigg finishes top 5 it'll be as big an indictment on the club & our B&F as when Hackson won the thing...

Had plenty of cracks at B.Ellis....have repeatedly stated Vlastuin should be in the middle & Miles was woeful but still has enough credits...both at least try....

So what's the issue with Rioli and Drummond again?

Neither of them did what they were asked
Big deal if they tackle
Neither stood in front of a pack
Neither reads the game well enough to gain first possession
Thus they have to tackle
Not saying they won't be any good but the development of Richmond players is very very poor
And he is a perfect example
Forget about tackling
Win the bloody ball first

Bit different if you playing a shut down role in D50
Might further add main issues are forward of Centre not back of Centre

The Barometer - Round 20
Herald-Sun
August 1, 2016

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: Take your pick. Ty Vickery didn’t light it up in his senior recall, managing just eight disposals, Anthony Miles didn’t have an impact in the midfield and Shaun Grigg had just 16 disposals. Sam Lloyd kicked one of the team’s three goals, while Nathan Drummond and Oleg Markov were quiet but expect Damien Hardwick to keep playing them.

ON THE CUSP: The Tigers will be hoping Brett Deledio’s calf injury comes good, while Shane Edwards and Ben Griffiths will aim to prove their fitness after missing with calf and groin issues respectively. In the VFL Andrew Moore put his hand up by dominating with 37 disposals and Jacob Townsend had 26 disposals, while Nathan Broad and Connor Menadue were prolific.

KATE SALEMME’S FORECAST: All eyes are on Tigerland after getting smashed by GWS, with the heat on all areas of the club. Chief executive Brendon Gale has backed Hardwick as coach but if the team puts in another performance like Saturday against Collingwood under the spotlight of Friday night footy, who knows what might happen. Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin and Alex Rance are fighting hard but the rest of the team need to follow. Some soul searching to be done ahead of the Pies clash.

As said in the previous post pick Moore, Townsend, Menadue and Broad on form in the seconds.
Wouldn't mind Cal Moore getting a game either.
Griffith for Vickery  CHF
A Moore for Grigg (injured ?) RR
Townsend for Conca
Menadue for B Ellis
Broad for Hunt
C Moore for Lambert
Vlastuin onball

We need a bit of muscle to help out Dusty, Cotch and Miles. They're getting smashed into the ground.

Why tackle when you can guard space and corral like a boss

If they play him for pointless wins and to look after Hardwicks job and PR rubbish I'll spew up.
