31 August 2016 2:20pmWANTAWAY Gold Coast midfielder Dion Prestia will nominate Richmond as his preferred home.
Prestia, 23, told the Suns of his desire to return to his home state of Victoria at the weekend.
It had been expected he would nominate Richmond as his preferred home and the Tigers confirmed the news on this afternoon.
“At 23 years of age, Dion has shown that he’s both a quality player and person, and he would be a great addition to our list,” Dan Richardson, Richmond’s General Manager of Football told the Tigers’ website.
Richmond said they would work with the Suns and Prestia’s manager in a bid to come to a suitable trade arrangement.
Prestia could expect to earn $700,000-$750,000 and the Tigers are set to offer a five-year deal for the Assumption College graduate.
Richmond is set to offer Gold Coast Pick 6 in the national draft, which would leave the Tigers without a selection in the first two rounds of the draft.
The Tigers last year traded away their 2016 second-round pick as part of the Chris Yarran deal.
