This was with only seconds left... was Dion taking the pee because of what happened a couple of games back [ed. last year] with the swan guy kicking the ball out at the siren?

Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne joined SEN’s Sportsday to discuss the performances from Round 17 which may have been overlooked in the coaches’ votes.

Dion Prestia (Richmond)

“We’ve got Dion Prestia here.

“He didn't get a vote from the coaches, and we had him as the fifth-highest rated player on the ground.

“It was actually his second-highest rated game for the season.

“He had 22 disposals and his ball use, which is probably sort of not often a real strength area of his game, was his best of the season.

“He was playing a slightly different role on Friday.”

Dion once again showed why he is very important to our midfield structure and wins over the past two weeks with him back in the side. Does the bread and butter stuff. Almost 500m gained as a mid yesterday too.

21 disposals (11k, 10h, 7c, 13u, 66.7% eff.)
3 tackles (2 F50 tackles)
4 clearances (1 centre clearance)
7 inside 50s
496 metres gained
8 score involvements
1 goal assist
1 goal
83% time on ground

Mini said we should all thank Meatball  :thumbsup.

28 disposals (14k, 14h, 8c, 20u, 75% eff.)
4 marks
7 tackles
4 clearances (2 centre clearances)
5 inside 50s
419 metres gained
2 intercepts
6 score involvements
1 behind
77% time on ground

Quirky stat: When Prestia has had more than 20 disposals this year, our record is 8 wins, 2 losses and a draw.

When's his contact up and what money is he on?

31 in October and doesn't really owe us much.

Would hate to lose him but might free up money for FA.

Alternatively, would GCS entertain a trade for 7 if we're paying his wage and send them some lower picks for academy players?

I would say this has more truth to it than any Dusty rumour.

has close friends in Goldy and i know at least one of them  :shh

he is contracted so Pick 7 would have to be part of it.

When he's on song we win more often than not but he's also injury prone , over 30 and playing less & less of those match winning games each year. As long as it's not for peanuts, then let him go. :shh

Why didn't he just stay there then.  Doesn't make a lot of sense other than players jumping from a sinking ship
