From the CLub website

"Scans have confirmed that midfielder Dion Prestia suffered a significant hamstring strain in Thursday night’s loss to Carlton.

Prestia felt the injury to his right leg late in the opening term and was subsequently substituted out of the game.

The Club anticipates Prestia will miss the next 8-10 weeks due to the injury."

Poor decision who allowed him to play after a 5 day break really poor management. Still maintain our fitness and conditioning needs a revamp.

if that was burge WP would be going to town, but its her cousin or long lost friend so play on.

Disgrace that he amongst a few more allowed it to occur. If it was Yze's decision which i very much doubt  then he is off to a bad start.

Grinding a champ to the ground, who is playing b grade footy when there was no need at all is crazy amateur stuff.

Granted I generally agree that it was unwise to play him, however, if youre needing to rest 2 rounds into the season, then the writings on the wall.

What's the go with Tim Livingston  ??. Is he having to much say etc bit of noise coming out.  I have never been impressed with him. It was Balme who shook up.the footy department.

Gotta say im already looking at next week
Surely Kane McAuliffe gets a game, after that performance. its criminal that he is not playing seniors this week.
Reckon Sonsie should get a game next week as well. He  dominated the first half but  ran out of puff a bit in the last. will  will be much better for the run. We are screaming out for his skills.

Naismith was very good again as well.

We were tacking bets on when Prestia would ping the hamstring. It was mindboggling the risk would be taken.

That's what you get by paying peanuts for Peanuts. With all the issues we've had since this bloke took over fitness department. Has he got peanuts for brains?

Who is that fitness bloke we let go to the Swans because we weren't prepared or too scrared to pay the extra money?

The club that keeps giving.

Yze said the latest setback for 31-year-old Prestia, who is also out of contract at the end of this season and has a history of hamstring issues, was “shattering” but he would look to use his smarts to aid the Tigers who have lost their opening two games of the season.

“He’s got a little bit of a tendon issue and so it’s going to be 10 weeks. He’s obviously frustrated,” he said.

“He’s a quality person, a quality player and a leader of our footy club. He’ll help our midfield … he’s a smart player, he’ll help with our stoppage set-ups.

“We can’t wait to get him back later in the year.”

High praise for Prestia

Prestia has been in good form since returning to Richmond’s line-up three games ago after being sidelined with a significant hamstring injury that he sustained in Round 1 against Carlton.

In those three games, he’s averaged 24.3 disposals, 8.3 contested possessions, 4.3 clearances, 4.3 score involvements and 287 metres gained per match.

The 31-year-old was one of the Tigers’ best players in Saturday night’s Dreamtime at the ‘G’ blockbuster with a team-high 27 disposals, eight contested possessions, four clearances, five score involvements and 274 metres gained.

Prestia’s value to the Richmond side goes beyond his own strong on-field efforts, according to Yze.

“Dion’s leadership and his ability to coach his way through training and our execution around stoppage, has been terrific,” Yze said.

“If you watch Dion train, he trains a hundred miles an hour. So that then makes our younger players better.”

Also managing a staggering 1.33 tackles/game since returning to the side.

I reckon he's not able to sprint/chase properly anymore.

Last season for him IMO.

Richmond confirming calf soreness for Prestia would be shattering for him given it likely puts him out for Dusty’s celebration against Hawthorn. He had been managed last week so the club couldn’t have done more to set him up to succeed but his body keeps breaking down

Ooze said he’s fine, just copped a knock to lower calf. 9-10 day break before next game so expects him to play.
