The hawks tried to offload Bruest and Smith to help gain Mitchell and O'Meara. both told Hawthorn they were not prepared to move anywhere.
Seems to me if players dont want to go somewhere or leave they get their way.
It is a double edged sword waving a big stick at players and totally  unprofessional but hey we are talking the RFC HERE SO ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

6, 26, 42, 60
Would love to get a late first for lids to trade to to GC.

Keep current pucks and trade out a few players and get ourselves some more picks in 20s and 30s
any ideas on how we can finish up with  5, 6, 26, 27, 35, 42, 50 and 60.or something along those lines.

Would be nice if we could get it Claw but I don't think it'll happen. Think we need to just add a pick between 10-25 at a minimum when you factor in the lack of quality we have on the trade table

Ok Ill have a hypothetical stab...
5( Cotchin), 6, 26 (compo) 27 (Ellis) 35 (Lennon) 30(SEdwards 42, 50(Conca)60
I think something like that would be a reasonable return, think too often people expect 1sr rounders for all our players
*not saying we should trade Cotchin, just answering your question

RICHMOND will have first access to exciting goalkicker Kayle Kirby as part of its next generation academy if the Bendigo Pioneers product does not get selected in November's national or rookie drafts.

The Tigers have nominated the 18-year-old as one of five players they will be able to automatically list as category B rookies under the new indigenous and multicultural academies.

The Tigers will also have access to emerging ruckman Esava Ratugolea, who has a Fijian background, should he not be drafted and have also nominated indigenous prospect Jy Simpkin.

Simpkin has been injured for most of the year with a broken leg but is next to no chance to get through to the category B process. He is still likely to be a top-25 pick.

Mail from draft combine is that Kirby won't get drafted
Why ?

Someone gotta want 'em

3 of the 4 are contracted so they have to agree

Id trade all 4 to get picks but (sigh) someone's gotta want 'em

And we also need to not be greedy  and think someone's worth more than what they actually are ;D

Maybe it's for the best with Kirby. If he was fit, he probably wouldnt slip through to the rookie draft. He has enough natural talent to roll the dice with a rookie pick.

Dare we suggest we've been in his ear to load up and tank the combines?  :shh

nah we're too politically correct to pull something like that
