judging someone's coaching ability based on their playing ability is borderline fooled

Indeed, but what else can we base it on?

Results. We all no his playing ability was limited and i was happy when he retired but he is a very communicator and teacher of young men. He just couldn't execute what he will be teaching on field himself. It's only at interview stage so he might not even be offered a role but if he does i believe he will be a far better coach than player :thumbsup

See exhibits

A = Clarkson - average player

B = Beveridge - can anyone actually remember him as a player

Mmm but from his playing career we can also see traits of poor accountability, poor decision making and of course that incident when he left Port.

bit harsh to label him a bust as a coach without even seeing what he has to offer. No-one here knows if he has what it takes to be a good coach or not
