Tackling @ RFC
« on: October 02, 2016, 12:36:17 AM »
2016 GF Tackles = Swans 101 vs Dogs 92.
Richmond season average 60.13 - in a year where we didn't have as much time in possession as our opponents.

One of the many things that needs to be fixed if we are to go anywhere.

Since our last final win in 2001. Where have Richmond rated in terms of tackling as a team compared to rest of competetion?

2002 - 12th (16 team comp)
2003 - 15th (16 team comp)
2004 - 10th (16 team comp)
Wallace era..
2005 - 12th (16 team comp)
2006 - 12th (16 team comp)
2007 - 16th (16 team comp)
2008 - 16th (16 team comp)
2009 - 11th (16 team comp)
Hardwick era..
2010 - 12th (16 team comp)
2011 - 15th (17 team comp)
2012 - 10th (18 team comp)
2013 - 18th (18 team comp)
2014 - 14th (18 team comp)
2015 - 17th (18 team comp)
2016 - 18th (18 team comp)

The last dozen are Hardwick eras beginning in 2010. 14 years since our last finals win. For that entire time our tackling ranking has been in double digits.

If Hardwick is so enormous about contested ball why doesn't he care about tackling? Bruise free Hardwick but wants to win contested footy. If we want to copy Hawthorns game plan, they have been in the top 10 tackling teams over the past 8 years.

How is this acceptable?

Answer = Lack of effort.

What is linked to effort? Teamwork and Leadership. Cut the rubbish about on field leadership, can't have any on field leadership when your coach is a donkey. Wallace was a donkey, so is Hardwick. We have no debt, pay the goose out and get the next Beveridge.

Round 8, 2016. Kick after the siren win vs Sydney.

74 tackles to 55. In RFC favour. Don't tell me we can't tackle. Against the best in the business we smashed them.

No accountability from the top to ensure this is the standard or expectation. Jobs for mates and jokes about sex life. Look....

 :clapping Great posts TL.  :thumbsup

This club is petrified of debt. Sack everyone and start again. Sack the dud and get someone who has a clue that can make a bunch of soft pansies a tough hardened team.
The club that keeps giving.

If you ask one of the experts on here tackling has no bearing on a game and doesn't matter....
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

If you ask one of the experts on here tackling has no bearing on a game and doesn't matter....

why do you constantly make things up, or is it really just a matter of having extremely poor comprehension skills?

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,

I think it is a bit of both and probably a few other things as well

We're just a soft lazy selfish side.

It hurts to say it, but it's true.

Lack of intelligence, we recruit small outside runners who can't or won't get their own ball and can't tackle or Shepard , shows a lack of a plan. Hopefully with Neil Balm at the helm Richmond will develop a plan that links everything that's relevant around football at the club.

Watching year of the dogs and so obvious the coach makes such a difference to the heartbeat of the playing style and club in general.  Dimma has some work to do.

Agree, we don't tackle enough and are not hard enough at the ball.

Lack of effort in this instance, Stems from he boys being tired out from the last 7 years of an idiot coach, who's press conferences confuse the players as much as his basic equation game plan.

Sit off it, indeed ! :lol
