I thought Nank was another senior player who stood up and lead the way on the weekend. He effectively negated Ryder's influence on the game which was a win for us.
And also negated Lycett......
True YaBB  :thumbsup. Nank was up against Port's ruck combo.
Thought Balta was more than handy as the back up ruck. Basically nullified the direct hit out to advantage from Port’s ruck combo and when the ball hit the ground he often put pressure on the opposition clearance player so their disposal was also not directed well..... :shh

That’s surprising, I always thought he was a good kick for a big fella.

Probably due to him playing like a rover most of the time and under the pump when he is kicking

Yeah he gets a lot of scrub kicks out of congestion. He’s generally a good field kick for his size.

Malthouse rates Nank as the 3rd best ruckman in the league.

Mick Malthouse’s top eight ruckmen/ruck combinations.

1. Brodie Grundy (Coll) Age: 25, Games: 112

2. Max Gawn (Melb) 27, 103

3. Toby Nankervis (Rich) 24, 63

At No.3 is the man who set up the Tigers’ premiership win, Toby Nankervis. He is not No.1 in any key stat I’ve mentioned, but he is thereabouts in all of them. He also carries the hope of Richmond supporters on his shoulders this season, but I fear for a lone ruckman when the odds are stacked against him to play out a full year. He will need assistance, just as Grundy has Mason Cox and Gawn now has Braydon Preuss.

4. Jarrod Witts (GC) 26, 84

5. Shane Mumford (GWS) 32, 174

6. Ben McEvoy/Jon Ceglar (Haw) 29, 28 / 191,65

7. Tom Hickey/Nathan Vardy (WC) 28, 27 / 83, 61

8. Rowan Marshall (St K) 23 16

(All numbers at end of Round 4)

I’d put Mummy at 1 at the moment.

Up there tonight. Thought Nank had a great game and lead the way in the ruck.

Nank's missing due to soreness seems to be going under the radar. He's only just come back from a lengthy layoff and shouldn't have general soreness after just 2 VFL games and one AFL game (even in the wet). Hopefully, it's not a flare up of that groin injury :-\. That would make us purely dependent on Soldo and Chol as our ruck combo for the finals.

I was thinking the same except that Chol could go for Balta.

Leppitsch on 3aw said Nank is missing due to a similar injury (to the one that kept him out i.e. groin). We're trying to manage it.

Hardwick said he tore scar tissue in the adductor area. One week off.

Barring the unlikely event we reinvent him as defender, he will not finish his career at Richmond... :shh

Why, because we have some promising talent? Nank is an A grade ruckmen when fit, hasnt had his chance this year due to injuries.
