do we have to......... ok then.

disagree with franklin and very happy with tambling. in hindsight (and i know it wouldnt of happened cause doggies took him) but lids and the doggies first pick....whats his name again... anyway that would of been a sensattional 1,2. super happy with bling though.

i agree with wood over pattison. patto seems to be a good intense player though much like how justin charles was for us. could workout fine.

i think our drafting over the last few years has been superb in that we seem to chose our players not only for their footy abilities but also for the person they are. i like this draft strategy cause you know you've got players who are very maleable and able to carry out instruction without getting carried away or led astray. this in my opinion immensely increases the chances of your picks making the grade.

but in saying that i think limbach is abit of an exeption to that rule as the rumours are he's a super cocky guy with a huge head otherwise that seems to be the general feel i get about our drafting.

Ryan Griffen is the doggies player you're thinking of blx.

It's going to take 4-5 years before we really know in hindsight who were the best picks of 2004. Our 2000 draft effort looked just ok even prior to last year with Cogs and Newman but now it looks pretty good when you add Pettifer plus Hyde and Krakouer.

The top 5 of the 2004 class all look like a win-win-win situation for us, Hawthorn and the doggies IMV. Let's see how Tambo goes this year after a injury-free preseason before writing him off compared to Franklin. I also have no complaints with us picking up Meyer or Patto based on last year and training last Friday. Skillwise Meyer > Monfries IMO.

Limbach still needs to build up his upper body. He'll probably be Coburg's FF this year. He spent plenty of time at training working on his goalkicking and taking on advice.

Food for thought anyway.

Im a fan of both the mature player I included: Morris, Dale (23), Egan, Matthew (22)

Both would have been nice at Tigerland, more so Egan. Steal for the Cats.

The Hawks' forum HHQ has a thread with a rewritten 2004 draft top 5 based on last year - Link. One twit has put Roughead at No 1. with Lids at #3 while another has all three of Roughead, Franklin and Lewis above Lids  :rollin. Thankfully most of them had the unbiased sense to put Lids at #1.

Thomas did get delisted, but i was considering his form in the year prior to when he got drafted. He won the Magarey medal in the SANFL, and was a tough small defender type. Something we needed
