“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I think players can have two player sponsors though. IIRC Cotch did in his early days.

Some food for thought anyways WP.

Players can have up to 6 sponsors

You collect the $1500 needed and go ahead, you can sort out: how to collect the $$, sort out out the person who gets to go to the dinner, the BBQ, and locker vieiwng.

but whatever you do it won't be under the name of OER

Why not?
Where is the OER constitution?
Surely the will of the forum members should determine that decision?
Or are you going to do a "Peggy" and decide for us?

As opposed to Peggy and the RFC, the site belongs to WP & OE/MT. They make the rules. As forum members we can visit and post within their rules. I realise you are taking the pee here but still it's not up to them to reply to "jokes" like this, with all due respect.

I'm not taking pee. There's a sticky on the board which was a discussion on the 3 strikes policy. A good debate which all good forums need. You don't move on if you reflect your own views all the time. I think that this would be another good debate, after all, what's the big deal in sponsoring the forums favourite player if you can raise the funds?

We have had this discussion in the past, a number of times and it's been decided not to do it.

If people from here want to get together and sponsor a player then that's fine.

But it wont it happen under the the banner of OER. It has to fall outside this forum = no link to this forum.

Why? I just don't get the logic why you wouldn't. In fact, in years to come it could become a highly sought after endorsement to the playing list. They could also be the main feature on our banner - jeez this thing writes itself lads.
