We should at least be able to talk about it.

And get more than "No it's not happening"
It can happen but not under the OER banner. I thought that was pretty clear.
I think you all forget that we have no ownership of this site. We do not contribute to its running costs and thus are just forum members. WP and OE run the show. If they say no, it means no. It does not mean we can discuss it or take a vote. There is nothing stopping any of you getting together, gathering the cash and sponsoring Jake or any other player. You can even do it through tigermosh if you wish. I am sure Coach wouldn't mind. ;D
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Actually, unless this is Nazi germany, as long as we are not breaking forum rules, we can discuss just about anything.

Sorry, I meant you can discuss it but it won't change anything.
No means no, unless the bosses change their minds! ;D

Discuss it away to your hearts content

Organise it yourselves; go for it it

But it won't be OER sponsoring a player.

But can I make it any clearer?

::) yeah mate that makes it blatantly clear why it can not happen ::).

I have explained why it won't happen. There have been many discussions over many years (this site has been running for 13 years) and it has been decided everytime we won't be doing it.

It won't be changing

I get people don't like it, agree with it but it is they way it is

I would think Doc YBB has explained it exceptionally well

I'd say the good doc has just shown to be falling in line - you still haven't clearly explained why the hell this forum doesn't sponsor players.
That ain't clear big Willy so stop with the cute Peggy talk and explain that nice and slowly, in English and why the reason plenty of years ago is still relevant today - its an ever changing world and time you caught up with that sunshine  ;D

I'll ask you a couple of question first

Why do you think we should now?

Because other sites do it?

Are you prepared to put it all together or do just think it should be another thing the mods should
do?

You going to cover any shortfall in $$

And in answer to your questions

We've never done it. And the reasons why are as relevant today as they have been every other time it's been discussed.

That explains how the decision came about but what were the major reasons WHY it should not/will not happen. Even in your most recent post where HRT questions the reasoning your only response is "the reasons why are as relevant today as they have been every other time"

I would think Doc YBB has explained it exceptionally well

All he has done is muddy the water with his opinion. Fair enough if you want to avoid the question for whatever reason but the white knight doesn't need to try and dismiss everyones questions and opinions based on the fact "if you say no, it means no". Maybe he should let the people who can actually answer the questions answer the question

White knight? LMAO.

It only requires a tiny amount of intelligence to work out the reasons why OER doesn't offer player sponsorships.

OER is a website that is run by a small number of people. They devote their personal time for free to keep the site afloat. They don't make money like others from advertising etc.  When it comes to player sponsorship, the time and money required to do this properly, chase up people for money and even maybe put in their own hard earned to make up shortfalls, make it less than desirable.

Does that make sense now?

Sheesh, talk about having to spell out the bloody obvious. :banghead

You my friend are one of the few people on this forum with a shred of intelligence it seems from my narrow view of things.

Sheesh,

I would have thought it was simple.

It's $1000 to sponsor a player.

20x$50.

If 20 people put in $50, some might put in multiple shares, then there is enough to do it.

If there wasn't enough then money returned and doesn't go ahead.

Who said anything about the site mods having to cover shortfalls.

In saying that, I don't give a continental and wouldn't be putting in.

Mate, it is obvious this Yellowblood guy is trying to get himself a gig on the mod team.

'Shortfall' is not a genuine excuse.
