Cheers TM. I'm not sure when they start preseason training. Early November as wayne said I guess as they get 8 weeks off now plus a few more for the oldies like Richo. The best time to go is after the National draft when you get the first glimpse of our new draftees at Tigerland.

LOL

The BP was a lot better in the second half of the year apart from the Carlton and Adelaide games. It was a pleasant change going to games nearly every week expecting us to have a strong chance of winning  :o.

Players need a longer break
Jon Ralph | October 13, 2008 12:00am

THE AFL Players' Association is worried by the increasing number of clubs returning to pre-season training within their mandated eight-week holiday. The Demons will this morning begin pre-season training just 43 days since their August 31 loss to Richmond.

In contrast, several of Richmond's senior players will train separately from the main group and will only return to the club close to Christmas.

The misleading thing is the older Tigers can start a month after the rest so it's not unusual for us.

Tigers return to the track
4:58 PM Mon 27 October, 2008

The first group of Richmond’s playing list returned to training today ahead of the 2009 season.

Players with 1-3 years of completed service began their pre season with a light training run and a series of fitness and strength tests.

Players with 4-7 years of completed service resume training on Thursday 30 October, followed by players with eight or more years of service on Thursday November 6.

The Tigers’ pre-Christmas program will run until December 20, before resuming on Monday January 5.

The 2009 AFL season kicks off on Thursday March 26 against Carlton at the MCG, before a trip to Skilled Stadium to play Geelong in round two.

You'd hope those who started back today came back in good shape otherwise they might find themselves off our list by the Friday cut off.
