There's been talk MT about Simmonds carrying a bit of a shoulder - any news there
The only thing I know WP is that Simmo has been carrying a shoulder for the past couple of weeks and was in the rehab group on Tuesday and didn't do much today.

Pretty dumb i reckon. If the average supporters can pick that up, the oppositions spies have little trouble identifing that ::)

Training today was at a sunny Punt Road oval. The session wasn't as long as usual midweek sessions. Started at about 2.30pm and when for just over an hour. A much happier mood amongst supporters after a win too.

In the rehab group were Harts (still with moonboot), Polo (didn't use his crook arm), Cogs (although he later joined the main group), Thursty, McGuane and Sugar. Cogs, Polo, Thursty and McGaune did laps. Tas also appeared from the rooms later on. No sign of Meyer. I was told he was still on crutches yesterday so hard to see him back again this year if true :(. Of course no Simmo, Gus, Razor or Knobel. I don't remember Kingsley being out there either.

The drills were pretty much the standard ones. Some team orientated contesting stuff first followed by full ground and back run and carry with goalkicking to finish off. Cogs joined the main group in the latter two.

As for clues to the Eagles game we'll pretty much try to copy the way we played against the Pies. Plenty of focus on accountable 1-on-1 work and longer direct kicking. Mark, dish off handball to someone running past and bang.

Any questions just fire away.

Thanks as always for the report MT.

Danny Meyer has gotten injured at the wrong time of the season.
Hard to see him staying at Richmond next year.

Being out of contract at Oct 31 means we could lose him for nothing in return. You'd reckon Danny will only survive if he wants to stay and because he's still young and there are others ahead of him on the chopping block who are older.

I couldn't care less if he walked out.
Good luck to a Sth Aussie club if they can get anything out of him.
Doesn't have the drive that Rodan showed IMO
What a wasted of a draft pick. :(.

I think he's finished playing AFL and I'll be surprised if another club picks him up.

You may be very well right Magic but I've just got a feeling that unless Danny tells the club he's out of here he'll get one more chance and rocket. Once you take Gas, Hall, Knobel, Kingsley, Moore and Hartigan (that's 6 already) Meyer will be competing along with other iffys Howat, Paddy, Krak and Schulz to stay. He's the youngest of 5 iffys and given the lack of depth of the draft it'll be hard to see us delist say more than 8 players.

Don't agree on this one MT.
He was given a one year deal as a rocket at the end of last season.
Do we want to do that again on what he has/n't show this season?

He had a pathetic preseason and it's continued through to the season proper.

He has gone backwards when he should have been progressing and shown zero signs of improvement or desire. Been over taken by first year players easily.

He does not deserve another contract on the basis of potential.
We have been down that road with Krakouer(and burned) and he showed infinitely more ability at a similar stage than what DM has to date.

The only rocket Meyer will get is if he's delisted.
Only then might he show some desire to get his career back on track and unfortunately that will be with another club if it happens at all which I seriously doubt.

Personally I don't think he's got what it takes to be a quality AFL player.
Wallace would have been bending over to play him yet he's been unable to force his way into the wooden spoon side which also happens to be one of the worst Richmond teams ever.

He's skinny(still). Can't win the footy. Shows little hunger. Don't know what position he's best at. Barely dominated a a game at the lower level. ???????????

Sometimes you just have to cut your loses and admit to a mistake.
If we can't trade him I hope the pretender gets punted.
