I don't agree with the article that our salary cap is tight. Sure we'll be paying Dusty as much as two players but the cap increase plus Maric, Deledio and Yarran alone would clear plenty of room and then any delistings on top. If that's the case then we can't bring anyone in at all which is garbage.

I wouldn't know, but the club might have an eye to the future. We have some other players we need to resign and if we pay overs that might be hard.

Looking at our apparent issue with coverage for our KPFs.......

I thought Taberner played a reasonable game for Freo today in a side that got flogged.

Reckon he would be available and might be a reasonably priced depth player for our tall forward roles. Think his papers are stamped at Freo.

Same goes for McInnes at West Coast. Has talent, just hasn't produced. Maybe a change of club might get something out of him?

Be worth it just to see his old man in the stands wearing a Richmond scarf....

From Jon Ralph's live chat today:

Q. Jackson Trengove on the move? Back to vic?

JR: Jackson Trengove continues to say he wants to stay but when he gets dropped as he was against Collingwood its a pretty good reality check for him. Why wouldn't a club like Richmond or Carlton be keen for a player who can play forward, ruck, defence and do it well. The Tigers are adamant they won't have salary cap room for someone like that but if clubs miss on their first priorities and someone like Trengove is available will they be tempted?

Q. What key forwards are Richmond going after??

JR: They seem to feel that they don't have money to secure a star. So right now they are saying if Shaun Hampson comes back and Ben Griffiths recovers from his concussions, they can play Toby Nankervis or Griffiths as the second tall. Then they might go to the draft and recruit a couple of tall forwards with first-round picks and find a successor to Jack. That is if they can keep Dusty Martin. If he leaves all bets are off

Q. Casboult to tiges. done deal

JR: The Tigers are adamant that they aren't interested in Casboult or if they were have cooled. They were happy for me to make that public over the weekend so I don't think it's a leverage position, they just don't want him. But someone will tip into him. Maybe not at 600K.

There was talk about Jack Redpath only having a one year option on his current contract at Dogs.

Surely he would be worth a chat to and seeing if he was interested in a 3 year deal?

Maybe his knees are a risk?

Libba is only out on form if I recall. Would be more than worth the gamble if we could get him into last year's form.

I'm keen and have been for 1-2 years.
