I suspect Taberner plays for a team that doesn't really know how to use him. I have seen him quite a few times at WAFL level, and he does show a bit.

The issue really is his mobility. Can't see how he would fit into our forward line. Not mobile enough IMO to consistently create a contest, and never seen any indication he can pinch hit in the ruck.

It is a shame, because in a team looking for a Hawkins type full forward, Taberner could be a reasonable player.

But I don't think that is us.

Assuming we plan to keep using the small forward line with one tall forward who is also mobile then essentially alot of the available players would have a cross through their name. Therefore it's a case of developing what we have or drafting players with those sorts of attributes so that they can fit into the current structures, they don't have to be stars as this season has proven.

We have another tall who will play a lot next year - Cal Moore. Super fast, great leap and contested mark and kicking has improved out of sight. Will be a great foils for Jack. A little more work on his defensive game and we have a 193 22yo key forward.

I see moore as a 3rd tall, not someone who can take over from jack. but if he puts on weight and crash packs then thats all we need !

We may just go to the draft this year and save our pennies for the 2018 trade period with Tom Lynch already considering to walk out on the Suns in twelve months time if they have another poor season.

Does anyone think we'd join the race for Stringer?? In football terms hes a great fit.  Character, not so much (allegedly).

Did I hear Mark Stevens on Ch 7 news tonight correctly?

He said, "Gaining the services of Stringer, Devon Smith and Jack Watts would make Essendon certainly a premiership favourite in 2018" :huh3  :rollin.

Adding an A grader and two solid B graders puts Brisbane in a premiership window. Whats his point?
