All excellent points but the difference between us (a big four club) and Norf (a pack of wandering nomads with no supporters) is they clearly take the girls competition seriously.
No money but they can afford a premiership side that is able to get our second best player as well.
No money but they can afford to host a vflw program that not only won the flag also but had 5 players make the vflw team of the year.
We on the other hand are a poor excuse for the woman's game giving not enough respect or resources behind it.
Like I've said many time before why should we be enthusiastic about the women's team when the club clearly isn't.
As you know I've been a massive supporter of our women's program but the above is an excellent post.
The reason N0rt are able to do what they done is about how they allocate their soft cap to their program. They focus on a talent pathway (VFLW) and allocate resources there. We chose to align with another Club for reasons the Club has never fully explained but in the same breath say we are paying all of the soft cap.
So after the fiasco of trade week I have come to realise that perhaps the AFLW program doesn't get focus it should. I noticed this season hardly anyone of our AFL players went to games, Nort had plenty at theirs. They preached an ethos of "one club" and delivered on it. We preached it but didn't seem to act on it
N0rt would be laughing at us right now. Outside of getting one of our best players for basically nothing they have everything we claim we want and that's a super successful program that generates premierships. What a truly sad reflectioncof how something is valued
