Richmond's top draft pick, Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls will miss his second successive intra-club match when the Tigers play at Victoria Park on Friday afternoon, however Greg Tivendale and Kelvin Moore will play.
Oakley-Nicholls, one of the quickest players of this year's draftees, was taken by the Tigers at pick eight in last year's NAB AFL draft and also missed last week's intra-club match at Ballarat due to lingering groin soreness.
However Richmond football manager Paul Armstrong said Oakley-Nicholls' injury was not serious.
"He is still another week away, it's nothing major it's just that he has got a bit of soreness in the groin," Armstrong.
"He is only a young boy so we want to be certain he is over it before he plays."
Armstrong said the Tigers had taken the same approach with their third pick in last year's draft, Travis Casserly, who is also yet to play in the pre-season due to groin soreness.
Richmond will regain Tivendale and Moore for Friday's second hit-out after both missed the game at Ballarat while Greg Stafford (jarred knee) and Chris Hyde (corked thigh), who were both injured in that match, will also play on Friday.
Several senior Tigers will again be rested as they are gradually eased into the pre-season including Mark Coughlan, Trent Knobel, Will Thursfield and Mark Chaffey while star forward Nathan Brown, who is progressing well in his comeback from a broken leg, is not expected to play until near the end of the pre-season.
