So they been trying to Push Motlop out the window for the past three years, couldn't give him away and now they get pick 19 compo?  What a feed of rubbish

Especially when Tom Rockliff gets round 2 as compo - Rockliff wouldn't wipe Jack Watts arse with Motlop
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Let's face it, this compensation idea is garbage.

The AFL brought in free agency, so make it free agency. Why is compensation involved?

Can't think of why else it exists.

If we have to have compensation, why doesn't the club signing the player pay it?

Isn't it convenient? Now Geelong have a pick to satisfy GC for Ablett - whether it's their first or this compensation pick. Gotta love the afl and their constant convenient rulings that have no consistency.

Players wanted FA like other sports but players want FA on their terms

For it to work (and am totally against FA BTW)

The morons at HQ need to :
* turf out these ridiculous comp picks

* allow clubs to trade players to whichever club they chose. Players have no say. That's how it works in other international sports. that some kid 3 years into the system can say  I want tbe traded but I'll only go to club A is pathetic. Just like this Stringer situation; Dogs are within their rights to get the best possible deal, not bow to the demands to said palyer

After the compo pick we got for Vickery, I don’t understand how anyone can be complaining what other teams are getting

👍

Why is it WP that c/d grade players rarely request a trade citing homesickness or demand a club like stringer has.

I hope he stays at Bulldogs. The melts from the cheats will be hilarious.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

True to a point.

But this deal underlines what I feel about the compensation aspect of FA. It is a joke.

The Stringer situation wasn't of his making - he wanted to stay and Beveridge wanted a scapegoat with which he could make a statement to the rest of the playing group

He's gone for 25 and 30. Apparently will be traded for 16 from the Blues.

Its amateur hour at HQ

Dons have done exceptionally well. Perhaps better than we did last year.

Stringer/Smith/Saad AND GWS second round pick (in super draft)

For 11/30 and next years 2nd and 3rd. Yowser

I reckon I hear that this year is a weak draft but the next one is great every year. We addressed weaknesses last year. Bombers have done nothing to address their lack of inside depth. They’ve just gone scattergun. Same with Port. Melbourne are the only ones who have added anything.

Lame trade period in general.
