Richmond will take premiership cup on tour of regional Victoria and Australian capitals.

PETER ROLFE
Herald Sun
19 October 2017 7:00pm

AFTER waiting 37 years for Grand Final glory, Richmond is set to take its premiership cup on a whistlestop tour to share the spoils with fans.

The Tigers will take their 11th cup on a tour of regional Victoria and most Australian capital cities as they continue to soak up the glory of their drought breaking win.

Richmond chief executive Brendon Gale said the team was determined to share the occasion with its dedicated band of supporters who waited so long for success.

“We are excited to take the premiership cup out to the Tiger Army faithful,’’ he said.

“We are a club with a national footprint with Richmond fans throughout Australia and they have been patiently waiting for a long time for the club to show off some silverware.’’

The tour, kicking off from the Punt Rd Oval on October 20, will take in the likes of Mildura, Echuca, Shepparton, Bendigo and Officer.

It will also venture to Sydney, Darwin, Perth, Hobart and the Gold Coast.

But the Tigers have already warned fans that not everyone will be able to pose for a photo with the cup “due to high demand’’.

Gale said all events would be free of charge.

“This is a great opportunity to take the cup to our loyal fans before we put it in a cabinet at Punt Road where everyone is always welcome to come and see it,’’ he said.

This is a perfect chance for us stop over in Adelaide with our new shiny Premiership cup & pick up some nice fresh salt!
Maybe Tex could show us his power stance again ...     :lol

I thought it was extremely poor we couldn't hold or even touch the cup.

I've seen many pics of friends who were given the opportunity with their clubs to hold aloft the cup, but not today.

Unless I have missed something?

I'm pretty sure some pies supporter I know, have a pic with their hand on the handle. Even though its Collingwood every time Ive seen that photo at their house I'm pleased for them that they got the opportunity to have a photo.

Couldn’t Dogs supporters take photos holding the cup for a price last year? Stupid time to do it anyway, most people are working and kids are at school. They’re touring it on weekends just about every place except where most of the supporters are  :thumbsdown
