Vickery, Dickery, shock, the times called on Tyrones clock. When the contract year struck 2, Clark said "your poo" and he dropped him off at the next block
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Ty Vickery retires from AFL after nine-year career with Richmond and Hawthorn

Herald Sun
15 November 2017

HAWTHORN’S Ty Vickery has announced his retirement from footy effective immediately.

The 27-year-old, who joined Hawthorn during the 2016 free agency period, said he plans to pursue other opportunities away from football.

“It hasn’t been an easy call to make,” Vickery said in a statement.

“Football has been a huge part of my life, but I don’t have the same passion for the game that I once did.

“The break gave me a real chance to think about the future and solidified that I’m ready for the next chapter of my life.

“To have the freedom to travel and explore other opportunities away from football is something I’m really looking forward to and a big part of my decision.

“I’d like to thank Hawthorn and Richmond Football Club for all the support and opportunities over my career.

“I’ve been blessed to play at two great clubs and I’ll leave the game with a lot of close mates and great memories.”

Hawthorn football manager Jason Burt said after an open discussion, the club realised Vickery’s heart was no longer committed to football.

“Ty came to us and we had a really open discussion about his future and the best decision for him going forward,” said Burt.

“Having spent the last two years playing predominantly at a VFL level, Ty’s passion for footy isn’t as strong as it once was.

“The end of season break gave Ty an opportunity to think about where he was at and has solidified his desire to experience life away from footy. A big part of that is having more privacy and being able to spend time with his wife.

“While it’s disappointing, the club completely understands Ty’s position and is grateful for the open and honest approach he has taken over the last couple of weeks.

“We thank Ty for his contribution to Hawthorn and wish him and Arina all the best for the future.”

Hopefully the club doesn't allow itself to be overcome with nostagia for Vickery and waste an early pick on Hayes.....

He will remain on the Hawthorn list fpr 2018

His manager was on SEN while I was driving home, said theyve negotiated a settlement on final year of his contract and it will be included in the Hawks 2018 salary cap
