Get excited .... :shh

But is he ready this year?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Consistency is the issue. He needs to turn exciting cameos here and there into a run of solid games at VFL level before getting a run in our AFL side. You'd hope though he'll play some AFL games this year.

Where is he likely to fit in our team at AFL level?

Could he take Houli's role, or McIntosh, or is he a KPD?

Good problem to have. Hope he makes it. Signs so far have been positive.

Garthwaite and Balta would be in my starting 22 this yr and if not Balta Moore.Reckon Ross and RC-D would be close as well.

Reckon

Grimes - Astbury - Vlastuin.
Houli - Garthwaite - Rance.  is the go down back.

Ross - Martin - Lambert
Nankervis - Cotchin - Prestia. onball midfield

Rioli - Riewoldt - Butler
Edwards - Lynch - Balta

Caddy - Rcd - Higgins - Graham
Thats rnd 1 taken care of. No softies  well there is Houli !!!! or panic merchants. No fumblers no glass half fulls lots of size and height plenty of run plenty of mids who can rotate thru positions.2nd ruck is taken care of  and importanly we have so many second 22 players who dont have games behind them getting games who look like definate upgrades on those i have ommitted.

Gets badly found out in 1v1 situations  and that is likely to be even more important with the 666 rule.

Short's as soft as they come but the new kick in rules will see him one of the first picked every week.... :shh

Claw hasn't seen Balta play either, obviously. How can you pick someone in the FP when all evidence has pointed towards him being a tall, running defender/wingman. Fair enough if he actually starts playing up forward more often but gee, let's wait and see before we include him in the side before a fearless premiership hero like BEllis....:shh
