So according to Slobbo. Lynch is "one of the worst defensive forwards in the competition" ....geez he's no tackling machine nor is he a manic chaser  but all things considered on the evidence so far this year he still looks a few steps up from the absolute bludger KPPs we had partnering Riewoldt up forward in recent years...

Whilst Lynch at his best is a powerhouse forward he will have 2-3 opponents on occasions so will have to play to some extent the selfless role Jack played otherwise that ball will just waltz straight out of our forward line.

Also not sure if it my imagination but our small forward structure when a ball is bombed in seems way off. On some occasions the smalls are actually flying for marks when they should be scouting for the spoils on the ground. Not to mention getting in the way of the tall forwards who are actually able to contest the mark.

Looks set for a big season, too bad it'll probably be wasted.....at least we're making feel at home  by having him as the number one forward target playing with kids and hacks bombing it to him while his side is getting soundly beaten....especially yesterday playing in front of three blokes and a dog...

I think Tom is improving every week - I'm really impressed.
I just hope the season isn't shot to bits when he really hits his stride.

Tiger teammate reveals truth about Dusty

After what was a horror week for Richmond star Dustin Martin, his teammate Tom Lynch has gone in to bat for the embattled midfielder.

Martin endured a frustrating outing in his side's heavy loss to the GWS Giants and was handed a one-match ban for striking the Giants' Adam Kennedy.

Following the incident as well as his inappropriate gesture, Martin has received heavy criticism from parts of the football community for his actions, but Lynch revealed the true character of his new teammate.

"I didn't really know him too much before I got to the club but he just loves the footy club so much,"

"He's great around the group of boys and just cares so much for his teammates.

"It's been great to get to know him. He's a really good person and really cares about his footy club."

After his well-publicised move from the Gold Coast Suns to Richmond in last year's trade period, Lynch has settled in well at the club despite the team's overall struggles.

The 26-year-old has been the Tigers' most potent attacking weapon, booting 10 goals in the three matches so far, and will need to be in career-best form with the team facing a daunting trip to Adelaide to take on the Power.

Tom showed why we chased hard to get him. Brilliant game and especially the second half. 7 marks in the last quarter and many contested. 6 goals all up. As the old saying goes big marking tall forwards don't get any shorter.
