The title of this thread should be updated. It's just a single Match review office now isn't it?

Also I think we will get shafted because we always do.

Depends what Michael Christian reckons he was looking at....I'd say the ball but then I also thought that's all Caddy was clearly looking at last week.... :shh

Difference with Caddy is no concussion.

Nothing or a fine at the most.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

But a fine only

He was pinged for it. 50 metres. Nothing more to see, Grimes however will get a wrestling fine.

Is Rance , Vlastuin in trouble with MRP ?????

Hard to know these days, but I reckon Rance might be.

It's hard to know because players drop like stuffing flies when there is any incidental contact. It's a blight on the game - like the Hawks decided last week if you can't beat 'em....

If I remember correctly, in both instances it was Breust that was the player in question and both times lay on the ground like he’s out for the count. I guess this is another way to try and either milk a free or 50 metre penalty as the umpire will assume that he was hit pretty heavily in the head or the tackle was overtly dangerous. In some way a clever ruse to fool the umpires and also get some needed rest without having to run to the bench.

No player has anything to worry about.
The club that keeps giving.

Soft. Breust milked it and made it look worse.

What is our game coming to? Rance hardly hit him with any force at all.

Rance “damn lucky” to avoid suspension says Lyon

By SEN
10 April 2018

Former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon believes Richmond’s Alex Rance is lucky to walk away with just a fine for his hit on Hawthorn’s Luke Breust.

The incident occurred late in the Tigers’ win over the Hawks on Sunday, with Rance arriving late to a marking contest. Match review officer Michael Christian deemed the hit as careless conduct with low impact to the head, which led to a $2,000 fine.

However, when compared to Josh Caddy’s suspension against Adelaide in Round 2, Lyon thinks the Richmond defender is fortunate to avoid a ban.

“I’m thinking Alex Rance is damn lucky today,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“He got a $2,000 fine, and his teammate Josh Caddy just missed a game for swatting at a ball that he missed and then he got David Mackay, who he knocked out.

“It was an open hand swat at the footy, and he missed the footy and got him, and because he was knocked out he got a week.

“Alex Rance’s was a pretty solid round arm spoil.”

Christian explained the decision yesterday.

"Yes (Rance) was late with his spoil, but he wasn't far away from the ball," he said.

"At the end of it all, to say that he intended to commit a reportable offence is stretching it too far."
