A few blokes need a little wake up call in the vfl.
Macintosh - doesn’t get the ball enough as a wingman should, doesn’t link well enough and his kicking is below par especially inside F50.
Butler - isn’t doing the things that made him effective last season. Averaging only 1 tackle F50.
Lloyd - he is what he is.
Conca - (see lloyd)

Ins: Prestia. Miles. Stengle. Menadue.

The club that keeps giving.

The Saints have lost Nathan Brown to injury, so they will only have one experienced key defender (Jake Carlisle) this week.

Don’t agree about Conca, reckon he has been good since he came back.  Agree a lot of the others named look tired or injured.  Last year they were bold in rotating blokes early to see how they would cope.

Conca is a modern day Tivendale/Hyde in terms of the calls for his head whenever we lose.

Or win and he actually plays well :lol

The Barometer - Round 10

Herald-Sun
22 May 2018

ON THE BLOCK: No injury concerns from the trip to Perth but if the Tigers reacted to one bad game there would be a few players in the gun. The small forward brigade were all quiet and defenders Nathan Broad, Dylan Grimes and David Astbury had 21 disposals between them and coughed up a few goals to boot. But Dimma will back in his men. Jacob Townsend and Sam Lloyd might be the most nervous.

ON THE CUSP: Dion Prestia will come straight back in if he’s fit and Jack Higgins was unlucky to be left out at the last minute against the Eagles. The Tigers had another big win in the VFL with a number of fringe players pushing their senior claims. Connor Menadue continued his excellent season with a team-high 24 disposals off halfback, Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis were busy in the midfield again and Mabior Chol and Callum Moore were both dangerous in the air up forward — good timing if the coaches decide Jack Riewoldt can’t do it all on his own. Daniel Rioli played a half in his first game since breaking his foot in the Grand Final but will need a few more weeks.

AL PATON’S FORECAST: The Tigers were due for a downer and Damien Hardwick didn’t seem devastated with an away loss to the rampaging Eagles in his post-match press conference. But there were some issues that he will look at closely especially how easily West Coast moved the ball from defence to its scarily potent attacking targets. This week St Kilda back at the MCG presents the chance to right the ship. Dustin Martin has copped it again in some quarters but was a few incredible Nic Naitanui and Elliot Yeo tackles away from tearing the game apart. Saints, look out.

In the Mix - Round 10

RICHMOND

Get them in: They've got options with Connor Menadue, Tyson Stengle and Oleg Markov standouts in the VFL, while Brandon Ellis and Anthony Miles are also available. Jack Higgins will be fresh after being a late omission from Sunday's game that allowed Shaun Grigg to return.

Under the pump:
Dan Butler and Jason Castagna,  who played with his knee strapped, were quiet. Nathan Broad had five possessions after managing a corked glute during the week while Sam Lloyd was another who didn't bring consistent pressure.

Medical room: Dion Prestia looks likely to miss a third week with a calf injury. Jack Riewoldt is expected to play despite reports a collision resulted in him coughing up blood on Sunday, while Alex Rance suffered a cork late in the game but should also be fine.

Verdict: Higgins or Stengle to replace Castagna and possibly Butler. Menadue is a chance for Lloyd while Ellis will be considered for Broad if he's still sore. It's looking more likely that Ivan Soldo will only play if Toby Nankervis doesn't, and this could possibly be the week the latter has a rest.

Dimma needs to mix it up a bit like to see a extra tall played and being developed badly exposed against eagles cause of that.

Love the overreaction when we drop a game. We didn’t lose because all of a sudden our structure doesn’t work, we lost because the eagles were the better team.

Also appreciate the got to get a tall in the side regardless of whether they perform at the top level.........just a lead in to the next Vickery or Griffiths

Except the likes of Moore, Chol & Garthwaite have been consistently performing quite well in the VFL this year whereas Vickery & Griffiths used to be called up on the back of doing stuff all....oh and unlike Sidedshow Bob & Balsawood Benny these blokes actually chase & lay the odd tackle and even take contested marks & crash packs every now & then...........:shh
