Our 3rd quarters becoming a concern
« on: May 26, 2018, 05:02:52 PM »
3 weeks in a row now we've come out asleep and been shown up in the 3rd qtr. Especially, the first 10-15 mins straight after half-time  :-\.

Granted injuries and sore bodies since the multiple games around Anzac Day contribute but it's becoming a trend we need to fix.

Shouldn't be attributed to injuries, we had 18 on the park just like them (well, excluding the 3 extra AND the man upstairs for most of the afternoon).

Not just 3 weeks in a row, we've been sloppy in our 3rd quarters all year.

Failed to shake Carlton (who are the worst team in the comp) in the third. Adelaide grabbed the game in the third. Hawthorn - perhaps the exception which proves the rule, Brisbane were appalling, nothing to judge anything by, Melbourne were far better than us in the third - we just took our chances when they fluffed theirs to half the quarter. Pies was okay, but hardly telling me there isn't an issue.

Don't care about the third quarter as long as we are ahead after the fourth.....
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

If we cough up 8 goals in the 3rd of a prelim and have to expend all our petrol tickets and play injured players to overhaul a lead in the forth, will you still be happy?

Any chance it's something to do with trying to conserve energy for the forth but at the moment we're just taking our foot off the pedal too much and struggle to get into the game?

It perplexes me. It's almost as if at half time.they all have a tall glass of hot Milo and come out comatose

Only if they are ahead at the end of the fourth like I said in the Granny......

Clearly, we must have worked on this during the week. Came out after half time from the start and tore the Bombers apart in the 3rd tonight  :thumbsup.
