Richmond today announced that Motorola has re-signed as a co-major partner of the Club for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Motorola, renowned worldwide for its innovation and leadership in mobile, wireless and broadband communications, is now into the fourth year of its partnership with the Tigers.
“It is this link with leadership and innovation that makes this such a wonderful partnership,” said Richmond’s President Gary March.
“As a club that is on the move, and focused on leadership and being innovative in all we do, we could not ask for a better partner than Motorola to join us on this journey.
“Our Club and players are proud to support Motorola and use the latest mobile technology and mobile phones.
“Motorola is also committed to the development of our young players and will continue its sponsorship of our VFL affiliate, Coburg, in 2006.”
Andrew Volard, the Managing Director, Motorola Mobile Devices, Australian and New Zealand, said his company was delighted to continue its strong support of the Richmond Football Club.
“Seventy percent of people who know about our association with Richmond are now more inclined to purchase a Motorola phone,” Mr Volard said.
“Motorola is at the heart of Tigerland, supporting AFL fans with the opportunity to win phones by participating in the “Ultimate Tigers’ Fan” competition.
“The Motorola Ultimate Tigers’ Fan Competition will run at seven Richmond home games at the MCG and Telstra Dome this season. Teams of Motorola staff will photograph Tiger fans using the new Motorola RAZR V3X phone.
“Photos of fans will appear on the scoreboard screen before the game and one lucky person will be selected to win two President Club tickets, a coaching staff pre-game briefing and entry to the players’ rooms . . . not to mention Motorola phones.
“Motorola is proud to be giving footy fans the chance to win this season. So, watch out for the “moto masher”, and you could be a winner with Motorola.”
