Playing on through the corridor. Naish long and Ballard marks 30 out. Doesn't miss this time.

Surely we need to find a backup ruck. Soldo is young and learning but sometimes doesn't even try to put his arm up to tap the ball  :help
And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do

Markov is done too. They want him as an option for Thursday night.

So we are 3 down on the bench.

That's it. Poor option plus missed target going back into the corridor and then Naish gets tackled from behind ... turnover and Willy go forward. From the throw-in in the pocket they kick a goal.

55 - 79

Soldo isn’t any good. His taps don’t do anything or go anywhere. He’s too slow. Doesn’t impact the game in any other manner.

He’s basically another version of Hamspud.

They are stronger for longer. The umps... :help some of the VFL players really spudded it up tonight along with some listed players. Balta early was the only highlight.

Didn’t miss much. The whole game Willy was more desperate and their pressure was way above ours the whole match. I personally think we were lucky to get away with only a 25 point loss to be honest.

No many players can lift their heads high for us.
Balta was good first half but was quiet second half.
Miller was quiet first half and was ok last quarter.
Silvestro was poor. Ballard was poor. Moore was very poor. Naish was quiet. Menadue was poor. Eggmolesse-Smith was hopeless but took a great specky. Soldo was hopeless. Coleman-jones was better in the ruck than up forward. Looks a better option than Soldo.

Miles battled hard most game. C. Ellis was ok. Markov was good but was benched in the last as was Butler early. Baker was good. We really missed Lloyd and Garthwaite.

Willy deserves the win.

VFL Finals 2018: Lights go out at VFL finals between Richmond and Williamstown

EDITOR ON DUTY:
James Mottershead
Herald-Sun

DAN Butler did enough in Richmond’s VFL loss on Saturday night to suggest he is ready for Thursday night’s Qualifying Final against Hawthorn.

Butler was on limited minutes and only played the first half, collecting three disposals to go with two tackles and a goal.

While it wasn’t an outstanding performance from Butler, it was enough to show Richmond’s coaches he has what it takes to make Hawthorn’s defenders nervous.

“I think that’s what we went into the game with some plan around what that could be like (Butler playing Thursday),” McRae said.

“At this stage he’s played a half and I thought he looked lively, we will just have to wait and see if he’s needed and if he pulls up ok.”

Butler’s spark could have come in handy in the second half when, remarkably, the existing lights at Punt Road Oval switched off for 19-minutes due to a computer malfunction, bringing the game to a halt.

“The lights going out probably helped us,” McRae laughed.

“I’ve never seen anything like it, it’s back to the Waverley days isn’t.

“There was a threat that it could be called off. It was a bit of a debacle.”

While Sam Lloyd and Ryan Garthwaite were kept safe for Thursday’s blockbuster, Corey Ellis went to work and put his hand up for a spot in September with 22 touches and a goal.

“I’m really proud of Corey, he’s one of those guys right until the end who is really willing to fight for the cause,” McRae said.

“He had a chase down with two minutes to go, that probably summed up his night.”

Anthony Miles finished the 11.14 (80) to 8.7 (55) loss with 25 disposals and five tackles, showing he is ready to fill a midfield void should it arise.
