Why wasn’t the game at PRO? Sorry, I didn’t get the memo.

Didn’t we finish on top? Don’t we get a home final twice?

All VFL finals in weeks 2 (semis) and week (prelims) are to be palyed at the Port Melb (north port oval) ground

Long standing VFL deal in place. Over the years a number of clubs has tried to get it changed with no success.

I only caught the second half but I thought Markov and Bolta were very good.

With a bit of luck next year, Markov takes Houli’s spot acrosd half back and Bolta takes Grigg’s spot.

Markov’s pace and use of the footy was easily AFL standard and Bolta could be anything.

Exciting times ahead with some of our youngsters coming through. What an advantage it’s is not having to throw them into senior footy too early.

I agree with all points. Once Balta was moved from a defensive position he was a cut above all of our team and Markov takes the game on.

With respect, we are not a "Mega" club in the VFL comp. We are one team in the comp and we are required to follow the rules that are set by the competition

People need to understand that the VFL is an independent competition, it is not the AFL reserves.

So we can stomp our feet, carry on about being the biggest club in the country but when it comes to the VFL, we are just another VFL side. Our AFL status has no (and shouldn't either BTW) bearing on our standing in the VFL

If anything hopefully this is just another reminder for our seniors that finishing on top is no gaurantee to walk into a grand final. I'm sure they know that, but Dan that was disappointing to go out in straight sets.

Which is why it's time for a stand alone AFL reserves comp. :shh

I would have thought Stengle would have gotten a couple of games in the 1's.

Must be doing something wrong?

Probably but until there is we accept the rules of the comp we are in.

Actually it is an interesting discussion; what does the AFL do? Stand alone reserve comp which they would need to fund, costing more than what they give the state comps now or retain the stauts quo?

Probably keep funding the VFL. An exodus would kill the state level comp.

AFL could easiy fund a reserves comp and the state leagues as well....whether they could actually run them professionally however is another matter entirely.... :shh
