I know we can't play them till the GF (knock on wood) but Melbourne are my biggest concern. Proving my suspicions tonight.

I think our main challenger is emerging tonight.

We'll see ...umpires & a slow opponent past their prime making them look good and  they're still blowing a few chances to finish them off... :shh

I went a bit early..

they were pretty ordinary after the fast start. They also leave a lot of space for sides to break them down, if a slow side like Geelong can Create that many opportunities, we’d slice through them with ease

Was it me or did Melb play pretty poorly?
I have a feeling we would demolish them.

They have no killer instinct. They have one trick and that’s inside football. They gave Geelong so many chances but Geelong just stank it up and had zero urgency. Yet any time Geelong turned it on briefly Melbourne fell apart. No one poo the bed under pressure like the Dees

Presuming our Prelim will be on a Friday night, then our opponent will be coming off a six day break.

Ok. I changed my mind. After seeing the swans play today and Geelong last night I wouldn’t mind playing either of those two especially the swans.  :rollin

Pies it’ll be. Can’t see gws beating the pies at the G next week, would love it if they did though.

Danger game, they are stuffing manic and we will have to be on to beat them.

GWS have class to win, Pies have underdone players on return trip from Perth
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I think tonight might have been. Reckon they will get belted by GWS myself.

So who do we want now that the choice is down to just two?

Collingwood?
GWS?
Don't care?

Rumour: Eagles will play their prelim before ours [confirmed false]
« Reply #27 on: September 09, 2018, 04:54:37 AM »
Rumour has it that our Prelim Final will now be on the Saturday rather than Friday as per usual for the team that finished on top of the ladder because the AFL doesn't want GWS or Collingwood playing us off a six day break.

While Dimma and our players will play anywhere anytime, why should we lose our advantage for finishing on top to placate teams that finished below us and why should the Eagles/Melb/Hawks get an extra day over us to prepare for the GF?

Moving of the goalposts again by the AFL if true, is there a precedent or is this the first ever talk of something like this?

Looks like it will be the pies.
They were manic but very fumbly.
2015 dogs finihed 13th, won the flag 2016
2016 Tigers finished 13th, won the flag 2017
2017 pies finished 13th, ...twilight zone??..
