Was it me or did Melb play pretty poorly?
I have a feeling we would demolish them.

Don't discount Hawthorn against them... Have a sneaky feeling Hawks will get them.

Take the bias away
It makes sense to have West Coast Preliminary on a Friday Night . The team opposing west Coast wins , allows them to get back to home state next day
Ours can be the same as last year , twilight against GWS would be nice

Actually agree with you Jack.

No issue when it is to be honest.
So we finish on top 2 games and percentage clear and you want to give away any advantage we earned?

Where does it say it’s meant to be fair? You finish on top and you get some advantages.

Not only that you want to give pertentially a team that finished 5th (4 games behind us) an extra day to prepare for a grand final if they win the prelim?

Would you still not have a problem if we weren’t as good as we are?
I know it probably won’t make much difference but that is not the point!

No I wouldn't care.

Dont care who we play, when we play and where we play. Makes no difference.

Not interested in looking for excuses, we are not Geelong.  We are Richmond!

We get screwed week in week, have all season (ump department says how ya doin😉) so it makes, should not make one iota of diiference

Might as well give us this now 🏆
AFL done Tiges huge favour
Let’s hope Pies/GWS is a bruising affair

Don't care either way. It'll be a tough encounter but if we bring our best high pressure all-ground team footy then we'll beat either of them.

I thought the point of 23 home and away rounds was to determine who plays in the finals, where they are played and even when they are played.
What’s the point of it all otherwise?

Saying you don’t care where we play is a stretch too imo.

Anyway the AFL obviously see it like most do.
Friday night it is with the extra days rest.

That should have been “23 home and away rounds”

Thanks for the pick up. That sentence makes so much more sense now.  :rollin

We finished top 4 that guaranteed us a double chance and a minimum 2 home finals - we got those, that's IMHO the most important thing to take out the H&A season

As to what day and what time they are scheduled I really don't care.

Didn’t you in another thread say it was “a joke” we had to play on Thursday night?
That hardly suggests you don’t really care when our finals are scheduled??

Can you explain what you mean because I’m confused??

I agree with the rest you said about the double chance and the home finals, but earning top spot gets you more than just the 2 most important things. An extra day to prepare for a GF is pretty important too IMO.

Yes I did because I am deadset against ANY games on Thursday night football. Not just finals but any games on Thursday nights.

Thursday night games are a disgrace. The are not good for families, not good for people who have to front up for work the next day. It is a TV rating money grab and not in the best interest of fans

A hell of a lot of people work on Saturdays too WP, so are Friday night games out too?

But I think you are missing my point, which is, why give away any advantage we have earned by finishing top of the ladder, 2 games clear by potentially giving a side that finished below us on the ladder an extra day to prepare??
I’m gathering in terms of you not working on Saturday or Sunday makes it easy either way what day you go to the footy but it’s more about getting every little thing in our favour if we do happen to get into a GF.

Anyway we are playing on the Friday night so it doesn’t really matter.  :thumbsup
But I’m tipping the RFC would have had something to say about it if it wasn’t that way.
