Our mids don’t assert themselves over the ball. They try to stick a hand in here hoping it spills out into space. Once Cripps stands over the ball you know he has won the clearance.

With Cotch showing the way you think more would follow, but nope

Our set up at centre bounces was terrible in regards to manning Cripps. Cotch stood next to him most times and at other stoppages around the ground and didn't really stick one tackle

What a star that bloke Cripps is.

Graham was a real positive last night. Grimes also very good as was Nank. Shane's handpassing is sublime. Agree with comments not a great game. Definitely very rusty.

Not wanting to say that he’s overhyped or over rated; but I wasn’t overly impressed with his game last night and I often think he lacks the polish that the other elite kids of the comp have. I honestly felt Cotchin outplayed him last night. Did the gritty things that helped turn/halve contests.

They got us for 2 quarters I felt they wanted the pill more than us.

Apart from that we had the game in hand all night, they were never gonna over come us.

More improvement will come over the course of the year, I still think we will be right in there at the end of the year.

Lynchmond will start clunking the sitters he missed last night.

I think the blues hit their ceiling last night.

The error-ridden first half of tonight's game didn't make our mistakes seem so bad. Hopefully we can put our poor skills down to Round 1 rust. We'll find out next week if our skills and workrate improve with the Pies coming off the back of a lost.

8 straight wins over the Blues (our best winning streak ever over them).

It's now been over 2000 days since we've lost to Carlton.

May it long continue  :gotigers.

Our game was the one with the most running. So our fitness was good to run out the game strongly.

Nank was huge tonight  :cheers
Nank should have been huge playing against a second stringer. Lets see how he goes against Grundy next week and lets see if his ruckwork has improved against a front liner.

I am not talking about a future game, I am giving Nank credit for a great game in round 1. I am also interested in seeing how he goes against the best ruckman in the comp this week...being competitive would be a good result. Be happy for a player....

good for you im talking about expectations so we are on a different page.
We should all expect our front line ruckman to perform well against a second stringer or do you disagree. In saying that i agree  he did what was needed.
