Ablett got a week for his high elbow. So the same penalty as Dusty. The MRO actually showing some consistency  :o.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact.

Dusty got 2 weeks he appealed it down to 1.

Medium impact, it looked bad, potential to cause serious injury don’t apply to Gaz.

No consistency at all.....

The most infuriating thing about Ablett getting off, is that we all knew he would get off. They were never going to suspend the little homophobe.

Didn’t deserve to be suspended IMO.

Dusty was off the ball & clearly deliberate. Deserved a week.

Ablett's I would say was legit wreckless at worst and largely in play. Glad he got off in that sense...

Fyfe and Ablett again  ::) with a high forearm/elbow. Will the MRO go soft on them again?

Ablett has to be intentional, went straight for his head.

1 for the elbow, 3 for stupidity in doing it again a week after he was cleared.

Fyfe has to get a week too.

Can Christianson explain how he gave Ablett a suspension last week and nothing this week for the exact same thing? The fact he was cleared at the tribunal shouldn’t make any difference if they are independent of each other like they say they are....

Protected species these blokes....both Fyfe & Ablett's elbows were far worse than Durdin's bump....perhaps we should just count our blessings after Stack wasn't reported and suspended for injuring Viney.... :shh

i reckon Ablett gets the benefit of the doubt for last weeks high forearm but not this week. Should have got a week IMO.

I would class last weeks as worse than the one on Shiels the week before.

Clear cut, 2 weeks down to one.

Amateur hour, although that’s par for the course.

Interesting to watch if Dimma gets on the front foot this week over De Boer's scragging last time he played on Dusty. He wasn't happy after the round 3 loss with the umpiring that day.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick was just as agitated as his superstar onballer after the match and questioned his treatment by de Boer off the ball.

"Why do you reckon he might give away that free kick?" he said.

"At the end of the day people come to watch the No.4 play, let the bloke play the game and protect the ball carrier is what I'm saying.

"Don't get me wrong de Boer did a terrific job but geez, hmmm.

"I'm certainly frustrated and I'll be interested to see what the umpiring fraternity says about it."

Despite Hardwick's grievances, he said he won't be following it up with a phone call to the umpiring department this week.

"I don't bother mate, I don't bother," he said.

He did however make his feelings known to the whistle blowers during the match, when he left the coaches box to remonstrate with the emergency umpire over Martin's treatment.

"I was just asking (what is) their responsibility to the ball player," he said.

"I didn't get a response."
