Trade talk, rumours & innuendo [merged]

John Ralph(yeah yeah flog) when asked on AFL Tonight if Essendon would have another crack at Jack Martin next off-season said "No, but just about every other Melbourne club is interested...."   :shh

Hope Mason Wood has another shyte year - he has so far - reckon we could get him for unders and turn him around....  :shh

Also wouldn't mind going after Ben Crocker if he still can''t crack it for a regular gig in the seniors at Collingwood....be handy to have a poor man's Martin,,,,especially if we don't get the Middle Class Man's Martin SPP...or even if we can.....imagine three Dustys in the side (well as close as you could realistically get without getting Rayner) ...try taggin' 'em all stuffers.... :shh :shh

I guess this is a general trade target thread now... :shh :shh :shh

We usually start these talks a year before we get serious. In that regard Cerra from Freo and/or Hopper from GWS would be targets.

SPP too.....depends on how Port go this year and what happens with Hinkley...most likely to head back to WA if he does leave though... :shh

Cerra probably not until the end of his current contract now....Bolton alone won't get him at this stage.. though ironically if SPP heads west a three way trade involving, say, Graham and something else might get him over here early..:shh :shh

Hopper still most likely... :shh :shh :shh

..but...

...Martin appears to be a new development since Essendon pulled out of the race...taking Cerra out of the equation, it's a toss up between him & SPP for me and I'd definitely take him over Hopper....we'd have to be very creative to get them both and it's further complicated by the sudden realisation that we'll probably need another quality KPD as well now,,,if that's the case I'd be going hard at Sam Taylor though I reckon you can find  fairly decent, if not superstar KPD's for cheap....:shh :shh :shh :shh

Mason Wood would be a sensational get but I can’t see him leaving the Roos - mainly for salary cap reasons.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Hopper over jack martin for sure. Taranto even better, Coniglio even better than that.

Taranto will be even better than Coniglio.....and while Hopper would certainly be a good get you're either severely overrating him or severely underrating Martin....  :shh

Why? I’m OS at the moment so well out of the loop. Last I heard he was a strong chance.
