Soldo taps down to RCD who goes towards English but a bad bounce allows Casey in.

Morris up and under. Bolton bursts through to HF but Casey mark.

Naish's chase forces the bad kick but Casey keep possession. Soldo go the chestmark in defence and it bounces out. ball-up. Miller bomb to the centre. Chol against 4 cleverly toe pokes inside 50. Moore and Aarts chase it and it's a throw-in. Townsend tackle forces the turnover. Menadue marks 55 out. Goes long and it's a rushed point.

Great win in an ordinary standard games

Very lucky that our inefficient entries into our forward line and finishing didn't cost us the game.

We were two down on the bench for the second half and so that might explain why we were almost run over in the last.

As Jack said, Townsend (lifted after half-time) and Bolton were our best two players. Garth would come into the seniors if Astbury's ankle doesn't come good. Menadue had a decent second half.

McRae post-game:

* Dour win. Casey love a contested game so we had to match them in that area.

* At half-time said to the boys don't get dispondant with the scoreboard and stick to the process. We tried opening the game up in the 3rd qtr.

* Graham - felt a twinge in the hammy in the warm up 5 mins before the game. Ran out of time to make a change that late. So we couldn't use reserve player Thompson.

* Weller - stiff back at half-time.

* Bolton - we spoke for 2 hours in match committee about him before the Anzac game. Very stiff to be dropped from the AFL team. 25 possies, 11 tackles. Showed his growing maturity as a player today.

* Townsend - his leadership was crucial today. Very lucky to have him and step up in that area after the loss of Miles, Lloyd.

* We had to get our hands dirty in the 3rd qtr. Townsend, Ballard and RCD got their hands dirty with Soldo in the ruck. Executed the gameplan and came away with the points.
