Richmond vs Brisbane @ the M.C.G. - Round 23, 2019
« on: July 23, 2019, 01:06:27 AM »
Mick Warner on Talking Footy last night said the AFL will announce the finalised fixture for Round 23 next week and they want our game against Brisbane to be the last of the round to build up suspense for the conclusion of the H/A season.

That would mean a late Sunday arvo game.

If we have 4th, and a home final against Geelong sewn up and a win would mean an interstate trip, then I couldn't see us being to fussed about winning.

We can get Dees coaching team to advise us on tanking tips
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I would think the FTA broadcaster (akaCh7) would want pur game on either Friday or Saturday night

I don’t mind it.

By that time we’ll know exactly where we’ll finish (give or take %) if we win or lose.

True that, but it's the best result for the club. We've got 2 Sunday games prior to the Bris game then a 12 day break after Round 23 if we get the Friday night final.
West Coast play us on the Sunday R22, 6 day break for a Sat r.23 game, then a probable 14 day break possibly 15 for the final.
Our spacing is better. I make this point because you generally need everything to go your way to win a flag including small wins like this.

Tigers' Round 23 fixture confirmed

richmondfc.com.au  Jul 30, 2019 6:40PM

Richmond will play Brisbane at the MCG on Sunday, August 25, in the final home-and-away round this season.

The AFL released the Round 23 fixture today, with the Tigers set to host the Lions at 3.20pm (AEST) in Richmond’s Member Thank You Round.

Tickets for the game will be available from Ticketek here.

Richmond's highly anticipated clash with the Lions has been scheduled as the free-to-air Sunday game.

Currently fourth and third respectively, the Tigers' clash with the Lions could potentially decide whether one – or both – qualify for the double chance via a top-four finish.
