Anyone who thinks pickett should come in cant be serious. Hasnt done anything to warrant senior selectiob.

Well for a start Ramps, unlike Shortsteps , who seems to be immune from criticism around here no matter how badly he plays, he won't shirk a contest, will lay some tackles, at least be partially accountable in defence and he even might hit his own players on the tit more than he does the opposition's...but lets see how he goes in the VFL this week first anyway... :shh

Personally I also think Short should be dropped but just not for pickett. If Stack was available Id make that change.

Need to have played at least 6 VFL games this year to play finals.
I think.
So Pickett can’t play? Not sure about that.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

He's referring Cotchin's eligibility to play in the VFL finals... :shh

He won't be coming in.
What if he has a blinder in the first VFL Final? Will you both change your minds?

I know it probably won’t happen but I’d drop
Bellis and replace him with McIntosh.

The rest did enough to keep their spot.

Any news on Stacky??

Tigers football manager Neil Balme said Nankervis was now likely to be recalled for Saturday night’s Gabba blockbuster in what would be just his second AFL game in nearly four months.

Balme even said Richmond was prepared to name both Nankervis and Ivan Soldo in the same side against the Lions.

“My gut feel is that we might even play both,” Balme told the Herald Sun.

“He (Nankervis) kicked the goal, which probably helps too. We might think about playing him forward a bit maybe.

“But we haven’t thought it through completely.”

Noah Balta was slated to play VFL but couldn’t shake a corked thigh he suffered against the Lions in the AFL last week.

But VFL coach Craig McRae said they would need to see how Nankervis recovered before they made a call on his availability for Saturday night's qualifying final against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

"It all depends on how he pulls up. He's played three games so far this year and he's pulled up quite sore from them so we'll wait and see on that," McRae said.

"It's been a week to week … traditionally it's been 48 hours, the first training session [where we've known]. I'd say Monday we'll see how he pulls up.

"I know match committee were pretty keen to see how he goes in that ruck position, that second ruck, because I think that's where they've forecast him playing.

"At his best he'll be playing AFL footy, so if he pulls up well I think he'll be in the mix to be discussed because there's an opportunity there for him … we'll see how that pans out."

Will star Tigers duo Dion Prestia and Toby Nankervis face Brisbane? (Herald-Sun)

Will star Tigers duo face Brisbane?

Jon Ralph,
Herald Sun
September 2, 2019

Dion Prestia has declared himself fit to take on Brisbane despite some lingering achilles pain ahead of Saturday’s final against Brisbane.

The Tigers players including Prestia went through a rigorous Saturday training session to ensure they kept up their training loads ahead of Saturday night’s qualifying final.

All top four sides are aware they might endure another week off if they win through to the preliminary final so are desperate not to loose too much conditioning.

For Prestia it was a chance to show he will be fit to play after pulling up sore in the round 23 victory over Brisbane.

“I like the (bye), it was just a chance to refresh a bit. It was a pretty big session yesterday to replicate a half (of footy) so it’s been good. I guess we will have a normal week. Head up on Friday so it should be pretty exciting to get up there,” he told Channel 9.

The Tigers will be desperate for ruckman Toby Nankervis to pull up well in coming days after his match-winning VFL finals performance off groin issues on Saturday.

Nankervis not only kicked the winning goal in the final seconds as Richmond came from 40 points down at quarter time, his midfield dominance was complete.

After a quieter first half he finished with 22 possessions, a dozen clearances, 33 hitouts and seven score involvements.

He could pair with ruckman Ivan Soldo, potentially at the expense of Noah Balta, who pulled up sore and didn’t play VFL after taking part in the Round 23 win over the Lions.

Soldo’s last three weeks have been the most consistent of his career, winning 14 possessions and 29 hitouts against Brisbane, although his hit-out-to-advantage win percentage remains at just over 11 per cent.

Balta had only five possessions against the Lions and while he and Mabior Chol can play forward the Tigers would be unlikely to drop Soldo, despite his lack of forward craft.

He has rumbled forward from the ruck to kick a goal in five of his past seven games but doesn't play as a traditional forward, so he or Nankervis would spend plenty of time on the bench under a two-ruck setup.
