I am ready for the haters but I think Dow has been serviceable within an under performing midfield group.

Depends what you mean by serviceable. Has he improved ? Yes but his baseline is still really low. You might be able to say he’s been serviceable for a midfield that has lost its best 3-4 players. He’s clearly not best 22 and probably not even best 26-30

He hasn't improved at all - if anything he's getting even worse.... :shh

BS, DOW is improving. Prestia is the one who is cooked.
Dow will be even better once Taranto is back, and McAuliffe keeps developing.  Dow will never be a Harley Reid but could become a very good Craig Lambert type . Very good at getting in and under and shooting out handballs to open the game up

Lambert couldn't kick to save his life. Was just a pure in and under player.. this is also dows strength, so just play to your strengths. Not my problem you can see it .
Even if Dow plays a super game you'll still give him no credit.
His game last night wasn't bad at all.

He played a relatively decent game in round 24 last year...and one or two of passable efforts this year, but on the whole I don't see any real improvement....if & when he has a genuinely good - not "good" by his low standards- game I'll be the first to mention it....hell if I can give Shortsteps votes as I've done in the past then I can acknowledge anyone... :shh

He'll be lucky to become the next Reece Conca let alone Craig Lambert.... :shh

Don’t let it worry you
In the last few days we’ve been told how much better Mansell is than Jake King was

We’ve had Ralphsmith and Vlastuin mentioned same sentence

And now to top the lot off, Dow is a Lambert type …

Just roll with it

Take the top 4-5 players out of any mid field group from any team in the league & see how well their 6th best mid goes.  That's what Dow is up against.  Plus he has some pretty thin support from his teenage team mates.
Thommo is in no danger of winning an award for his season so far, but you can't criticize his effort or application.  Its a pretty gutsy effort from a young fella ...

Granted I watched only half the game , while at work - with the sound off …. But I thought it was one of his better games . I saw a few butchered kicks but overall I could see some improvement on recent weeks.

Want to see butchered kicks, just watch Shorts highlights
