Membership 2021 - 'Proud to be Richmond'

https://am.ticketmaster.com/richmond/member2021#/

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, there is great uncertainty on what season 2021 may look like however our number one priority is to get you to the footy. And importantly, to do so safely.

With this in mind, we are unveiling a new membership model that gives members more control, is more efficient and takes into account the uncertainty that still remains around the 2021 season. We want to give members more flexibility and more control with their membership for season 2021.

These changes will also help our Club fight through these difficult circumstances and allow us to continue our ultimate goal of premiership success.

Changes to our membership model as well as detailed FAQs for each membership category can be found below. Whilst we do not have the answers to all your questions at present, we will continue to provide the latest up-to-date information here on this page.

2021 membership card

Your 2021 commemorative membership card has been sent with your 2021 renewal notice.

Game access next year will look different and, as such, your card does not have a barcode and will not be used for entry. Further information on game access will outlined shortly.

2021 cap or scarf

In season 2021, eligible members will be given a $20 voucher to redeem online at the Tigerland Superstore. This voucher can be used to claim your 2021 member cap or scarf, or can be used as credit towards any other item. Your voucher will be sent in early 2021.

Due to the uncertainty of the 2021 fixture, we ae unable to include a physical fixture magnet in your pack. We will provide a digital version once the fixture has been finalised.

A membership lanyard will also not be included.

Game access

There is still great uncertainty on what season 2021 may look like however our number one priority is to get you to the footy. And importantly, to do so safely. This means there could be reduced crowd capacity at games, particularly at the MCG. All members will likely need to enter a ballot for each match day, specific to your current membership product. This process will allow us to ensure you sit in your normal reserved seating area as often as possible.

We would like to stress to you that if you hold a reserved seat, your seat will still remain in your name and you’ll be able to access it as soon as it is safe to do so.

More information about game access for 2021 will be communicated closer to the season.

Price freeze

As a small token of appreciation to the incredible support and generosity we’ve received this year from the Tiger Army, we’ve introduced a price freeze, and in some cases a price reduction, across membership products for season 2021.

For 2021 only, we have also introduced a Pay-As-You-Attend model which provides reserved seat, reserved bay and premium members with the flexibility to pay a base fee upon renewal and then pay for a discounted ticket for each game they attend. To find out more, simply head to the FAQ or Pay-As-You-Attend pages below.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pay-in-full or Pay-as-you-attend options

We understand that financially things are tough, and for many of you, football is a luxury. That is why we have introduced a pay-as-you-attend model for Roaming Tiger, reserved seat, reserved bay and premium members. Eligible members will have the option of paying a base membership fee upon renewal and then paying a discounted ticketing fee for each game they choose to attend. The value of your base membership and ticketing fee is dependent on your membership product and level of seating.

What's the difference in payment options?

New in 2021, there are two payment options available to eligible reserved seat, reserved bay and premium members.

Option 1: Pay your membership in full

Option 2: Pay-as-you-attend! This provides you with the flexibility to pay your base membership fee and then pay for a discounted ticket for each Richmond home game you attend.

What is Pay-As-You-Attend and how does it work?

We understand that financially things are tough, and for many of you, football is a luxury. That is why we have introduced a pay-as-you-attend model for reserved seat, reserved bay and premium members. As a Premiership Circle Olympic Stand member, you will have the option of paying a base membership fee upon renewal and then paying a discounted ticketing fee for each game you choose to attend. Please note, only the base membership fee will be available on the usual 10-monthly or upfront payment plan. The base membership fee does not include any game access and is non-refundable should there be no football in Victoria in 2021.

Exact information, and process on how to register or enter the ballot, will be communicated in the New Year closer to the season.

Important: Members who opt into the pay-as-you-attend model and attend every game will not be charged more than the upfront membership price. We will contact you should you reach this threshold. The pay-as-you-attend option provides a discounted annual fee if a member attends less than all games.

Please note, the discounted ticketing fee will only be processed via a member’s nominated credit card if successful in the ballot for each specific game. Further information will be made available to members in 2021.

Why are these changes being made?

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, there is great uncertainty on what season 2021 may look like however our number one priority is to get you to the footy. And importantly, to do so safely. With this in mind, we are unveiling a new membership model that gives members more control, is more efficient and takes into account the uncertainty that still remains around the 2021 season. We want to give members more flexibility and more control with their membership for season 2021. These changes will also help our Club fight through these difficult circumstances and allow us to continue our ultimate goal of premiership success.

Will I have access to attend games in season 2021?

There is still great uncertainty on what season 2021 may look like however our number one priority is to get you to the footy. And importantly, to do so safely. This means there could be reduced crowd capacity at games, particularly at the MCG. Given the size of our membership base, this will likely result in member-only match days for some Richmond home games.

At this stage, the exact timings of this is unknown.

Please note, we will ensure all members have priority access to attend Richmond home games before any Club tickets are released to the general public. Exact information and instructions on how the balloting process will work will be communicated closer to the season.

How can i choose the Pay-As-You-Attend option?

Online: Head to your 2021 Membership invoice and simply 'remove' the 'Access - Pay In Full' component from your invoice. You can find step-by-step instructions below.

Call: Call the Richmond Membership Team on 1300 742 466 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Great solution. We have 100,000 members so our games would be only RIchmond supporters

Our Members will still miss out

Couple of points:

1/ crowd numbers to be capped, say 50% at best to start with.

2/ MCC and AFL will still get access, how much is the question

3/ read the letter and this thread, there will likely be a ballot for home games

So all of that means that on a game by game basis not all our members will get access

Hopefully to maximise crowds, member attendance and revenue, all our home games will finally all be at the G and no more at docklands.

With the automatic renewal today, we should get an idea of how our membership numbers are tracking for 2021 in a few days time (assuming the RFC website posts the current tally).

Told our current tally is certainly above 60k and of today just under 70k. So the membership dept is pleased. It's been very busy this week.

Sorry roger, my home internet has been down.

I can't do it on my phone but search "2020 membership" and look up the post with the corresponding tally from this time last year.

Thanks for that, roger. We're probably just behind this time last year but that's not unexpected given covid and the late finish to this season. Hopefully, we catch up as we get closer to the start of next season and with crowds returning albeit restricted.
