Love the wishful thinking on here.

Trade value is based on market value not best case scenario for players

A pick between 30-40 will be about the mark i reckon.

Its trade week - everyone engages in wishful thinking..... both ways.
If Jye Caldwell is worth a first rounder, so too is Jack Higgins, even if it should be at the back end of that round
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

What every club needs to do and the picks they can use

RICHMOND

What’s left to do

Not a lot. Jack Higgins has been weighing up his options after being squeezed out of the Tigers’ best 22 late in the season, and was linked to St Kilda, but he’s yet to officially request a trade and Richmond would be more than happy to keep him. It’s up to the 2017 No. 17 pick from here – if he wants to go, expect him to go.

What draft picks they have to use

21, 36, 61, 79, 97

ST KILDA

Richmond young gun Jack Higgins’ name is continually linked with the Saints, but until any official trade request is made, there won’t be any discussions between the two clubs. At this stage, it appears the forward-midfielder will remain at Tigerland, but discussions late from the Saints could force a change of heart.

What draft picks they have to use

17, 64, 77, 93

Jack Higgins

Richmond has made it clear that Higgins must formally request a trade before it considers any offers for the midfielder-forward. Higgins is understood to be open to a move and has been linked to St Kilda, but the chances of a trade are becoming less likely. Higgins lost his spot in the Tigers' team on the eve of the finals this season.

It’s the little things, like saying hello to a stranger, that helps drive Jack Higgins’ optimistic outlook in life 😊 The Richmond small forward and fan favourite opens up on how he embodies a positive attitude, thanks to Colgate Australia.

Sam Edmund on SEN:
,
Higgins wants out. Wants game time after watching two premierships from the sidelines.

Richmond, whether due to not wanting to get burnt again after Butler last year or because they see the future potential of Higgins, aren't going to give him up cheaply.

Edmund expects a deal to get done (but didn't say how).

First round pick should be involved.

Kid has played 43 of a possible 70 games despite brain surgery.

It's all about perceived value.  There is no way Adam Saad is worth pick 8 or top 18 in my opinion.  If he was playing for Richmond he'd be borderline best 22.  He wouldn't be getting a game over Baker, Vlastuin or Short.  Maybe he'd replace Houli (oh hello wasn't that what Oleg was doing)??
Don't want Jack to leave but if he does we need to be compensated, would take Saints 1st and give back a third rounder..

Tigers rebuff Saints’ offer for Higgins

Liam Twomey
JON RALPH

Richmond has so far rebuffed St Kilda’s offer of a future second-round selection for Jack Higgins, with a potential trade for the Tigers midfielder still possible before Thursday's deadline.

Higgins has made clear he would like to move to St Kilda to gain more opportunities after 10 games in 2020 but the Tigers are keen to retain him.

They are yet to officially shut down a move and would require a significant trade for the No.17 draft selection in the 2017 national draft.

St Kilda’s first two picks in the 2020 national draft are 17 and 64, and their first-rounder this year is not up for grabs.

They should just cough up their first rounder this year. It's been pushed back a bit already with FA compo.

Solid chance they'll have a better pick next year.

Adam Cooney on SEN reckons Higgins is worth a late 20s to pick 30.

His manager is on now and he's definately out of there.  Talking future picks.
Big test for the Tigers here.  Dont accept a future second rounder.

Adam Cooney on SEN reckons Higgins is worth a late 20s to pick 30.

Ironically about the same value as Cooney turned out to be worth.
