If this is the deal we've failed miserably.  Well done to saints must be said.

Good deal. I disagree, moving up the first round is worth more than people think.
At a guess, Saints are probably 6-10 next year so we will get something high 20’s to low 30’s next year.
Next year’s draft will be a much better steer on talent than this year
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

WHAT A HORRIBLE DEAL!

HE wants to leave and we give St Kilda a few spots below?

So basically we are now 4-5 spots above.

Big deal.

St Kilda a winner out of this.

and a future 2nd round - what 40-50 in 2021?

Bad deal.

Should’ve been 1R pick and that’s all.

Why are clubs being nice and Essendon playing hard ball?

Saad Pick 8? Is he an AA and B&F winner? what 3rd this year?

B Ellis was 2nd one year, where is our Pick 8?

Disappointing.

If this is the deal we've failed miserably.  Well done to saints must be said.

Why?

Everyone wanted pick 17, which we got = TICK

and we get a future 2nd rounder which means we have two 2nd rounders next year = TICK

What exactly did you want

Just pick 17? Was never going to happen.

We've jumped up in the draft order which is a win

Reckon we've done well here, getting a first rounder for him is win a big win

The kid wanted to go so be it.We supported him through his illness and instead of buckling down work harder breake in our best 22 took the easy and weake option for me must have had little believe he could.

Moved up 4 picks and gained saints second rd 2021 I'm not convinced saints will do as well as this season to.

Equivalent 669 points which works out to around pick 28-29 in value.

I think somewhat unders but I'm happy to see him go. I don't think he had a big future with us. Yes maybe a chance to improve and some upside but I don't think he will ever be a true gun.

“It’s amazing to join the Saints next year and I really can’t wait to get started,” Higgins said.

“I grew up barracking for the Saints, so it really is a dream come true to represent the club.

“I’m really keen to meet my new teammates and be part of the Saints moving forward, because they’re definitely heading somewhere pretty special.”

Whereas B.Ellis, Townsend, Miles, etc ... all left with our supporters' understanding and even blessing, I've got a feeling Higgins will be the first ex-Tiger since 2017 to walk out and go to another club that will be booed heavily by the Tiger Army when crowds return. Could have done a Kmac and worked his way back into the senior side next year but instead has taken off especially after the Club supported him through the past couple of years. Not the RFC's fault either there was no VFL this year so our fringe players could find form and press their case with game-time in the ressies.

The trade itself is neither good nor bad. About a late 20s pick in terms of points which is at the bottom end of his worth. Up to our recruiters now to turn it into a good deal.

Never understood booing ex players. Waste of energy most of the time.

I'm glad Richard Tambling never played against us at the G. Would have made Goodesgate look like nothing
