If we can get 2 picks in the 20 range early 30 I would consider it very even draft.

Wouldn't mind if we traded it for a couple of next year's seconds with say Norf....gonna be a bumper crop...not just with the quality of next year's kids but  the law of averages says there should be a few high quality left overs from this year too....blokes who would've been drafted or "bolters"  this year had they been playing and there were no list reductions...also gives us a stronger hand if we want to trade up or we're targeting a player we'll need to trade for...

THERE are a number of reasons that makes this perhaps the most uncertain NAB AFL Draft ever.

With a lack of football due to COVID-19, combined with the most compromised pool in history, recruiters who have watched games from afar and no NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, there are many varied views on players.

Add to that the presence of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan at the top end of the pool as a Next Generation Academy pick, injury concerns over other No.1 pick contenders, six clubs having multiple first-round selections and plenty of potential pick swaps lined up, and clubs will go into Wednesday night's draft with little clarity how it will unfold.   

Here is our Phantom Draft top 30, as we predict where players will go, who will make bids on Academy prospects and how the top group will shape up. Note the draft order has changed in line with predictions on clubs moving up the order to match bids.

Below the top 30, AFL.com.au has also listed club-by-club whispers on who each team could target in the back half of the draft.

Macrae averaged 17 disposals a game in the NAB League last year playing mainly off a half-forward flank, and was due for far more time in the midfield in 2020. Everything Macrae does has polish: he can use the ball well on both feet and is also handy when he shifts forward. The younger brother of Western Bulldogs star Jack, Macrae is a very good size for a midfielder and impacts games with his touches. Ran 6:17 minutes in the 2km time trial. The rich would get richer if this one comes off.

If not him? The Tigers can sit pretty and see if Macrae is available. They have been linked as possible bidders on Swans Academy prospect Errol Gulden, while Conor Stone is another who looms as a chance. Max Holmes is a tiny chance if things fall a certain way.

Recruiting sources have also indicated that Geelong and West Coast are interested in trading back into the first round, while Richmond are open to trading out their first-round pick, which is currently No.17.

Foxfooty.com.au understands other potential deals in the works include:

- Richmond could trade out 17 and move out of the first round (current picks: 17, 36, 61, 79)

- St Kilda is looking to move up from their first selection of 21 (current picks: 21, 64, 67, 74)

- Adelaide could package 22 and 23 and move either up or down the order (current picks: 1, 9, 22, 23, 40, 80)

- Melbourne may send out 28 for a pick in next year’s draft (current picks: 18, 19, 28, 50)

Sounds like we'll probably hold onto our first pick and see what is available when it's our turn. If no one we're really keen on slips to our pick or we think we can get the kid we want later on in the draft then we'll probably trade it out or move back.

The Age has us taking Tom Powell with our first pick at 21

The South Australian was something of a bolter this year, returning from injury to dominate at South Australian under-18 level. He is the son of former Crows player Matt Powell. It wouldn't be a shock if he was already gone though, in which case Finlay Macrae would be tempting if not taken earlier. Powell could easily be snapped up already by North too, in which case it would be Archie Perkins who could well slide down the order.
