After seeing today's hitout, who do you see getting the last spot on our list?

Green

But I qualify that with I misses the 1st quarter of the "rest" game so didn't see it all.

It has to be DES.  We need a back-up for Houli who is in his last year and may struggle to get the on the park.  Ralph-Smith ain't the answer as yet.

Personally I'd cut Stack and Houli now also and pick up Cam Olden and Josh Green.

Personally I'd cut Stack and Houli now also and pick up Cam Olden and Josh Green.

Put Stack on the LTI list -  say "mental health issues" or some bullshyte

Soldo LTI list as well

Green, Goog , mid -season pick...two if Houli decides to pack it in as well... :shh :shh

Couroupis is no longer training with us.

Tigers whittle down train-on list

The Tigers confirmed on Tuesday that West Adelaide midfielder Nic Couroupis had been released and would ply his trade in the SANFL this season.

Couroupis had been training with Richmond during the pre-season and appeared in Friday’s reserves scratch match against the Demons. He remains listed on the AFL’s official permission-to-train list, which was circulated to clubs on Monday.

That leaves three contenders vying for the single opening left on the club’s list: defender Derek Eggmolesse-Smith, utility Josh Green and midfielder Jordan Gallucci. The trio all featured across the Tigers’ practice matches against the Demons last week and will spend another week with the club in a last bid to impress ahead of the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period deadline next Tuesday.

Eggmolesse-Smith, 22, was delisted by the Tigers at the end of last season despite playing six AFL games in 2020 and even polling in the Brownlow Medal. He was given the chance to earn a reprieve by impressing over the summer and remains in contention to stay at the club.

The younger brother of Greater Western Sydney young gun Tom Green, Josh Green is also the grandson of Richmond premiership player Michael Green. From Canberra, he was bypassed by the Giants in last year’s draft despite being a member of the club’s academy.

A first-round draft pick in 2016, Gallucci played 27 games in four years for Adelaide before delisted. Having struggled with injury last year, he will play for Williamstown in the new-look VFL this year if not picked up by the Tigers.

How many blokes win a RS nomination and get Charlie votes in their debut season before being delisted?

It wasn't his debut season, he debuted the year or 2 before against GC and looked like a star in the making.

But I get your point.

However, it needs to be put in context. Bronwnlow votes and the TV came against N0rt who were the worst team last season as were GC when he debuted against them. His problem IMHO is against good sides he struggles, lacks awareness and is slow = typical "deer in the headlights" scenario

I will go on record as saying I will be disappointed if we re-draft him. Would rather give Green or Galluci an opportunity

Corrected and I agree.

I'd prefer Green. I've heard Gallucci isn't a brave man either.

Went too early on Morris  er I mean Mansell IMO....both Green & Egg would've been better options......Green is probably going to more like a Tomlinson type than like his brother but that's still handy depth to have.. people pointing out Egg's issues need to cast their minds back to Houli at the same age.....and he's at least a better player than the likes of Naish...:shh

Will be very disappointed if Galucci gets the nod...looks a bit of non-event of a player to me and in a position we're not exactly starved of...delisted from the wooden spooners probably says it all... :shh  :shh

My only comment on Naish is he is very lucky to still be on the list ... one can only hope the brother is worth it  ;D

You have to weigh up Eggs elite kicking with his habit of having the deer in headlight moments when he is under pressure.

His run and carry is no-where near Houli's so to put him in Houli's position doesn't mean you will get a like for like player.

Short can play that run and carry role and already has been for some time and his kicking is elite left and right.

That Port game last year in the third quarter really exposed Egg's short comings and he still had them during the intraclub practice match.

Green offers us something different and flexibility so I would be leaning towards him for the last position

p.s. I believe that Eggs will eventually develop a cool head under pressure but it may take a few years so I would encourage him to play in our VFL side with a commitment to draft him if he can

turn it around.
