Importants things to note

OK, our kicking was bad..............so what we WON!

just here , late at night , refelecting and thinking that tonights game had some very importatnt aspects to it.

1/ we are the team that has rewriiten the history books! yes , 1st time since 1978, that the bombers have not lost 5 str8!

2/ we showed real character and toughness tonight. After last weeks bad kicking, we could have lost the plot and gone back into our shells and played a poo style of footy under pressure. But we didnt, the boys stuck o their guns, showed gr8 resolve and strength of character and kept on with the plan.

3/ as point 2, after gaining control midway through the last quarter, and then dramatically losing it, we showed we are a different team to the past. in past years we would have let the bumber pump on 5 more goals, but instead we fought back and won! well done

3/ cleve and JON showed they will be special and deserve their spots

4/ hartigan is getting better week by week and he and raines will be gr8 4 us and dominant attacking half back flankers

5/ pettifer, forget the yipps, is showing he will be a dominant hff 4 years to come, not gonna stress about his misses, browny has had days lik ethat in the past!

6/ POLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
whatelse can i say, kicked well with both feet, showed guts, no fear and well composed! was at home on the big stage and thats what we need big stage players!

nb/ i will wait til next week to cut threads through cogs and tiv! these 2 boys are letting us down! and a message 4 cogs, u r a natural right foot kick, so stop fricken kicking lolly pops with that left foot of yours!

go tigers!

Basically just agree with you mate. The last 8 days could prove in time the beginning of the REAL turnaround. Never mind the kicking...that will improve.

Richo at the" G" outplaying, outbarracking and beating the biggest clubs in the country in succcessive weeks.THAT is more like it. THAT is what the Big Cat is about.

X

Pull your head out of your behind, Tiva was again a valuable contirbutor last night.

I agree with you re comments on Cogs kicking on his left when he doesnt have to.

Take a look from your other eye and watch Tiv's game. Once again he gave us drive and provided a number or clearances.

I used to bag Tiv as much as you last year, but give him a break.

Just seen some more stats X, Tiv had 17 kicks last night with 15 being effective, plus 7 inside 50's.

I will love to see his stats when you think he is contirbuting to the team.  ;D

On Krak, i actually thought he worked pretty hard tonight and was in and under packs a lot more  :thumbsup He still needs to finish off his chances better, but i actually thought he improved last night. Hopefully he can continue

hey bull
i understand what u r saying about tiv, im not saying he has not improved , he has, but thats only because he knows his butt is on the line, if we re-sign him, he will drop again.
what im onabout is when he makes mistakes , thay are very baaaaaad, very very bad! yes he did ok, but his mistakes cost us. sure he kicked goals too, but he , as a senior player, had teh chance to take a simple mark and seal the game 4 us, and he shat himself! and mucked it right up. then we have  2 first gamers to seal it for us and stay cool calm and collected!
POLO , his goal was special! JON, was unlucky the wind swept his final shot at goal away as it was dead str8 for 85% of its journey to goal.

tiv needs to take some no fear pills, and grow some courage between his legs!
cogs, has to stop reading his press, he is no where as good as ppl and or the media think he is! he has to stop believing his that good1 his right foot is bad, his left foot is worse. he has tonnes of courage, but sets up many rebounds and turnovers with his lolly pop substandard , grade 5 style kicking!

i do hope tiv can cut out is bad mistakes, the pressure will be on him and cogs to keep their spots because raines, hartigan, polo, JON, bling, lids are just a handful of young kids far better than they are with much more to offer

just my opinion

Sure Tiv dropped the mark which would have been handy but it didnt cost us the match.

You could also bring up the turn over that Krak did late in the last qtr. When he had the ball 50 out and tried this short little pass inside 50, i would have thought % thing to do is bang it long to the square.

I suppose we could debate it all day X  :thumbsup

I also agree with you re: tiv not being very hard but all clubs have them.

OK, our kicking was bad..............so what we WON!

True X but good sides won't allow such a luxury. All 3 wins so far have come against bottom 4 sides. Now I know you can only beat the opposition on the night but kicking 39 points in the last two weeks in not acceptable. Each game should have been all over red rover at half-time as we've dominated the second quarters only to kick 6.18.

1/ we are the team that has rewriiten the history books! yes , 1st time since 1978, that the bombers have not lost 5 str8!

They lost 6 straight in 1997  ;).

3/ as point 2, after gaining control midway through the last quarter, and then dramatically losing it, we showed we are a different team to the past. in past years we would have let the bumber pump on 5 more goals, but instead we fought back and won! well done

Agree X. We did the same thing against the Lions. We didn't go into our shells and kept to the gameplan. An awesome effort to hold the line when there were 4 ball-ups in the Bomber forward line. Be nice though to run away and pump the opposition when we get a break. At 16 points up in the last we should never have allowed them back into the game.

4/ hartigan is getting better week by week and he and raines will be gr8 4 us and dominant attacking half back flankers

Back to the form he showed early last year before doing his hammy. It was great seeing him run the lines and break tackles. Our very own battering ram  :thumbsup.

nb/ i will wait til next week to cut threads through cogs and tiv! these 2 boys are letting us down! and a message 4 cogs, u r a natural right foot kick, so stop fricken kicking lolly pops with that left foot of yours!

Apart from that dropped mark it's hard to fault Tivs game. A masterstroke by Terry to stick him in the middle and win the hard ball and kick long inside 50. Tivs is still vunerable on his right which is his weakness but he would be in our top 5 Tigers for the B&F at the minute.

As for Cogs yeah his kicking is a worry but as WP said in the voting thread he should stick to using his right foot.

It sounds more dramatic and sells more papers ;).

R7-R12 1997 they lost 6 in a row. They broke their losing sequence by thumping us in R13 by 93 points. Walls was deadman walking after that and the Adelaide hiding finished him off  :thumbsup.

The Bombers were 1-5 after R6 in 1981 and lost their last 8 in a row in 1978.

Another important thing to note - our woeful percentage. Only Brisbane's is worse. I don't want to be a doom and gloom merchant, but over the last decade I reckon we have nearly always had a worse % than those teams on or around the same number of points and it shows that we can scrap for wins, but we get thumped against the big boys. When we start improving this I'll start thinking about finals footy.

Can't believe some supporters  ::)
Just admit you don't like Tiv, and no matter how he performs he won't cut it with you.  At least that's honest.

Was thinking about this on the weekend.  77%, after 3 wins tells a story.  And we’ve beaten the 3 teams currently placed 14th, 15th and 16th, as well.

It's only still early in the season, but it puts things in perspective when you consider that Geelong has lost one more game than us, yet are on 113%.
