Compare the pair... One is a 3-week ban while the other is nothing to see here
.
Arguably there was less time for Mansell to protect himself. Regardless there is very little difference. Certainly not a 3 week penalty.https://twitter.com/Tigers_of_Old/status/1694114089252135314------------------------------
Woods (AFL): The AFL says that inevitably it was a bump. It's not simply a brace. You actually see him turning to position his body in such a way that his shoulder is tucked in to make forceful contact with McAdam's head. McCartin could've minimised impact by taking shorter steps or not turning his body in the manner he did, and potentially even changing his trajectory, even though it was a split second thing. A reasonable player in those circumstances wouldn't have acted in that way. To come in the way he did was unreasonable.

Tom McCartin has had his two-game rough conduct ban overturned, with the Tribunal ruling the collision that floored Shane McAdam was not a bump.
The Adelaide forward will need surgery after he suffered a depressed cheekbone fracture in the incident.
The Swans successfully argued the collision was an accident, caused by McCartin having to change direction as he was chasing the ball.
"Although when viewed from certain angles this action looks like a bump, we heard McCartin's explanation and looked at the footage and the stills showing all angles, we are not satisfied it was a bump," the Tribunal said in its ruling.
"We find ... that the way in which McCartin responded to a late and sharp change in direction of the ball was not unreasonable.
"There was little else he could reasonably do than himself change direction, decelerate and ride the inevitable impact, which he did."
