Jon Ralph on Fox Footy said Dreamtime will be in Perth. Essendon will remain over there and we'll fly there after the game tomorrow.

Gives Don's the edge, already being there and had a game.

Otherwise good venue. Strong indigenous heritage and a fair few of our boys from that part of the world.

Snelling on the Sunday Footy Show said Essendon has been told the Dreamtime game is likely to be in Perth but it's not been confirmed.

Yeah, it does give the Bombers the advantage but hopefully we finally start getting a bit of luck injury wise :pray so we're not two man down and off our feet in the last quarter like the Eagles were last night.

Mark Stevens on 7news said "it's a lock".

Confirmed on the AFL website as well.

FOR the second consecutive season, COVID-19 has forced the AFL's Essendon-Richmond Dreamtime game away from the MCG, with the 2021 edition to be played next Saturday night at Perth's Optus Stadium.

How come Dreamtime and the Sir Doug Nicholls round are on separate weekends this year?

I think (some) clubs wanted a home game so it's now spread over two weeks.

Essendon is ninth on the ladder with a bullet. Here’s why Richmond — and the rest of the top eight — should be nervous.

David King and Daniel Hoyne
HeraldSun
June 1, 2021 - 3:58PM

Currently sitting ninth with a 5-6 record, Essendon faces eighth-placed Richmond (6-5) in a blockbuster Dreamtime clash on Saturday night.

Speaking on Pure Footy, Champion Data analyst Daniel Hoyne said Essendon was producing finals-like numbers over the past month in wins against West Coast, North Melbourne and Fremantle and a two-point loss to the Giants.

He said the Bombers ranked fourth in the AFL for loose ball gets over the past month while an overall 15th ranking for contested possessions was misleading.

“A lot of their ruckwork is contributing to that, their free kicks are contributing to that, if you take that out and just look at what they’re doing when the ball is on the deck, they are actually the sixth-best ground ball team in the competition.

“Their profile over the last month, if it continues for the next 11 matches, they are going to be in it right up to the eyeballs in terms of playing finals this year.”

Essendon's strike rate past 4 weeks:
Stoppages: 2nd in the AFL.
Turnovers: 4th in the AFL.

They've played Collingwood, Carlton, Giants, Dockers, North and a very underwhelming West Coast in the last 6 weeks. Not exactly a tough draw, and they dropped the game against Giants. If we bring our 'A' pressure game, we should win comfortably. Famous last words  :rollin

Apparently this is what Optus Stadium is going to look like on Saturday night:

Essendon fans on bomberblitz mocking our season so far and saying they will beat us because the game is in Perth:

Quote from: domaura
R1   Home   Win   F*** Carlton   25 pts   Meh
R2   Away   Win   Dawks   29 pts   Double Meh
R3   Home   Loss   Sydney   45 pts   True colours starting to show
R4   Away   Loss   Pot Adelaide   2 pts   Honorable
R5   Away   Win   St. Kilda   86 pts   Proper win
R6   Away   Loss   Melbourne   34 pts   Still have not beaten a reasonably good side
R7   Home   Win   Bulldogs   22 pts   Now they have
R8   Home   Loss   Cats   63 pts   Previous week was fake-back to uncertainty
R9   Home   Win   Giants   4 pts   Lucky
R10   Away   Loss   Lions   28 pts   More confirmation they can’t beat a good team
R11   Home   Win   Crows   28 pts   Meh again
R12   Away      Bombers

If we play the way we have been playing and put ourselves into the good team category (which I think we are) then we can beat these pussies at Optus Oval.

Can he apply the same assessment over the bombers season......

And just for fun can he do the same with all Richmond vs Essendon matchups from 2015 onwards.....
