Gunna say it again so good to have such a good decision maker and ball user coming thru.
Not sure why people talk about his tank so much it his size more than anything that is stopping him atm.Still another pretty steady game from the kid.
15 touches in the first half, 5 in the second.
Looked tired to me.
Needs a bigger tank like you'd expect of any first year mid.
Yep, not sure how size is the concern when he can clearly rack it up at AFL level (15 to halftime)
The lack of strength and size is stopping him atm but hey you keep the glasses on .
Not criticising him in fact have been screaming for him to be played all year just stating an area that just about all first year players need to work on.
Yes, all of our mids lack the body & the tank to dominate, but what do people expect of first year players? They aren't going to be instant strong-men performing Herculean feats of strength! These are 19yo kids playing against men, of course they aren't up to it yet! Cotchin's first 3 years were similarly weak & intimidated, now he is a bulldozer & has been for years now. Dusty was a rare gem who had a body from the beginning, not too many 19yo players are like him.
The new boys are doing pretty well in their first year(s), fast forward to a midfield with the speed & evasiveness of Bolton with the freakish skilled tackling machine MRJ by his side, throw in the pure silk of a Sonsie with the running power of Banks, the goal sense of Clarke & the gut running of Banks & Brown!
It may not all turn out so perfectly but the building blocks are there now. We need to develop these guys to become the players we want them to be & stop expecting them to be pop up stars right now.
Claw, you do this to every kid we draft, how about letting them develop & grow before expecting them to dominate the AFL? Does it make you feel big to put players down?
