Tiger71 from BF reckons we are interested in Darcy Fogarty at the Crows.

He also is claiming Hopper is the one most likely from the Giants. Taranto wants too much money and Green wants to remain at GWS (caveat depends on the new coach).

Dusty and Baker aren't going anywhere.

Wouldn't mind Fog. Think he has potential and Jack due to retire soon we need a KPF.

Prefer Taranto to Hopper myself. Don't see why we can't take both in the event Dusty leaves.

Baker needs to stay but if Dusty doesn't recapture some form I don't really see why we should try too hard to keep him with him and Lynch combining for about $2.4-2.6mil/year.

If Dusty leaves and Edwards + Lambert retire would be have enough money to entice all of Taranto, Hopper and Fogarty? Surely that's at least $1.8-2.2mil/year?

I'd take Fogarty without hesitation

So much upside; he just needs to apply himself and get a decent run at it.

Crows would want a lot for him though

What do you think it would take?

I wouldn’t trade anything significant or pay over the top for forgarty, hasn’t shown enough over his first 5 seasons to prove he’s gonna become a top forward. If we are targeting a young forward I’d be looking at larkey from north.

Nup. He's from Lucindale in rural South Australia (near Naracoorte).

Dunno if we could acquire Larkey though - likely to cost a lot more in trade + salary. Also we have Lynch so if someone like Fog could play second string I think it would suit us.

I think he's shown plenty of potential but he's playing in a side with Walker and Thilthorpe so is probably 3rd tier there and the team in general has been very poor.

Fogarty suits us to a tee. Right age 23 or 24, 194cm key forward has talent. Moneyball type recruit because itll cost us a sevond rounder mayber or a Mansell heads back home.

Balta - Tarrant - Grimes
Vlastuin - Rioli - Broad
Pickett - Prestia - KMac
Rioli - Fogarty - Bolton
Riewoldt - Lynch - Baker

Fol: Nankervis, Taranto, Hopper

Int: Gibcus, Graham, Short, Cotchin

Depth/developing: Clarke, Cumberland, Miller, Soldo, Sonsie, Mansell, Biggie.

The rest I have no idea (Banks, Brown, Bauer etc) about or drawn a line through them (Dow, RCD, Aarts, George, Parker, Ross, Stack).

If we could field a team like this at the expense of Dusty (on the decline, ?wants to go to NSW), Edwards (retire) and Lambert (retire) then I think we'd be in a position to compete better than we are in 2022.

Another year of Riewoldt and Tarrant if they're up to it, otherwise Gibcus and Fogarty could take their places.

Buddy bombshell: Franklin could walk after Swans’ lowball offer

In a bombshell development, Lance Franklin’s future is up in the air after a lowball contract offer from the Swans that could drive him to retirement or a third club.

Swans offering $500k which is around half of what he is currently on. Buddy wants $700k-800k.

Stuff me is this a joke he wants 700-800 after pulling $10mil for 9 years?

He's old and pretty much cooked like Jack. 500 tops, I wouldn't even offer him that much.
