Trade talk on Foxsports:

Question: Richmond really need a tall forward to replace Reiwoldt. Is there any word if they are chasing anyone?

David Zita: No word as yet GP... they've got Balta to swing as needed so don't think there's urgency yet.

Question: Pick 12 , 19 , Soldo and Castanga for Taranto and Hopper do you think that is fair?

David Zita: Don't mind it but that's just my opinion!

I don’t think they will but I also hope they don’t try to push anyone out the door that wants to stay. If we’ve committed to them with a contract and they aren’t interested in leaving then that should end the conversation. We’ve built a great culture and that would be the sort of thing that would start to fracture that in my opinion.

Jay Clark on MMM guessed:

12 + 19 for Taranto

30 + future first + Soldo for Hopper.

Hoping we can manage to keep 1 of those 4 picks. Still sceptical that they’d want soldo.

No one in their right mind would want him

Don't think we will give that up for a salary dump.
2 picks and a player for Hopper is way overs without something coming back.

When you are out of finals this is definitely a fun time of year  ;D

Just on Soldo, he used to have family in Canberra so a move north may actually appeal

Be interesting Kingsley knows our list back to front so wouldn't be surprised who they request.

Agree, Kingsley would know exactly who from our list he'd want but also who'd be available

If Richmond gets the two deals done, how quickly the AFL will introduce rules to stopped similar trades in the future?

Cornes this morning on SEN sooking saying it's not fair that we are getting both Taranto and Hopper and that equalisation is broken.

Also complains about 7-year contracts and he reckons Hardwick won't be around in 4-7 years time as coach so Dimma doesn't care.

Mitch Cleary reckons 12-19-30-Future 1st-Player (Soldo?) will be needed but we may trade with clubs searching for academy points to move a pick or picks up the draft as part of satisfying the Taranto/Hopper trades.

Hopper is 1 year away from FA so I’d think their leverage is pretty low ish on him.

People will complain about us getting Taranto and Hopper and equalisation etc but here is a fact they will conveniently overlook ( Cornes):

 - At this point we will only have 6 players from other clubs on our list for 2023

 - Prestia, Tarrant, Lynch, Nank Taranto and Hopper.

Surely one of the lowest amounts of any team in the comp.

Thats close - it will be 12, 19, Future 1st and Soldo.  No need to include 30.  That's overs

This is a good point.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
