Tommy Lahiff on 3KZ.

"Can you hear me, Harry?"

The other thing that has disappeared is when all the games were on a Saturday arvo the scoreboard would show the scores of the other games with different letters representing each of the other teams. You needed to buy the Record to know which was which.

haha is there audio of that tommy recording?

I just miss Rex. He wasnt everyones cup of tea but i loved every bit of his antics. I've seen him a few times around here and he always loves to chat. Ripping guy.

Did anyone here used to sneak into the club rooms? That was my biggest kick i got out of going to the footy during those times, especially supporting the tigers.

It was open slather on the party pies and autographs. I recall some old bloke would always walk around with an oven on a trolley and you could pick off what you wanted.

Only thing which wasnt great was players would sign your book completely starkers in front of you.

Good times.

Listening to the radio Saturday and having 4-5 games on at a time, going around the grounds, then other commentators cutting in with scores if a game was close.

Still remember the Rex Hunt / Barrassi blow up. They got a soundbite of Ron saying 'I've had one, maybe two marijuana cigarettes' and used it repeatedly.

Rex : Oh, Ron has just joined us, where have you been?

Ron : I've had one, maybe two marijuana cigarettes

I think Ron left over this.
And you may not think I care for you

For the youngsters out there

Some of the old radio stations and what they are now

3DB = KIIS FM (Was DB FM when it moved from AM to FM, then became TT FM before becoming KIIS)

3KZ = Gold 104.3 (was KZ FM for a while)

3GL (Geelong radio) = K Rock

3UZ = RSN (927)

3AW is still 3AW

3LO = ABC 774

93.2 EON FM (Melb first FM station) = MMM (triple M)
